Looking for Paradise? Here it is at the El Matador! Has to be the most sought of family vacation resort on the Emerald Coast. A secluded condominium nestled between the beautiful white sand dunes and the sparkling Emerald Waters of the Gulf of Mexico.

El Matador is truly a beach resort. Just two miles down Santa Rosa Blvd at the end of the Island you will find us – secluded but still just a few minutes to all the amenities that Destin and Fort Walton Beach have to offer. Just six miles down Hwy. 98 you can enjoy Destin – “ The Worlds Luckiest Fishing Village” – charter a private trip or take the kids out on a group boat and catch dinner. While in Destin enjoy fine restaurants, shopping, and golfing on some of the best golf courses in the Panhandle of Florida. Hard to believe that you might need a day off from the beach but if you do take the family to Big Kahunas Water Park in the center of old Destin. Much more than just a water park… it’s a day of fun!

Back at the El Matador enjoy the large grass areas between our buildings just right for family fun and games. With two pools, his and her whirlpool, and saunas just right for your tired muscles after a game of tennis on one of our courts, or in our fitness center. We are located at the end of Okaloosa Island a small barrier Island between Fort Walton Beach and Destin. This gated community with thirteen miles of undeveloped beaches to the west is sure to have you longing to return.

Annual Memorial Day vacay

Great view from our room. Nice pool and a good location. Beach needs upkeep (seaweed, garbage). Friendly guests. Descent parking. We enjoyed it for sure. I would go there again.

Stayed a week for a baseball tournament... nice property! Great beach location... close to grocery store, restaurants... about 30 min to Destin.

Over all it’s a nice place. We loved that we were the last unit on the beach! The unit was large and had all needed amenities It did however need a deep cleaning. You can tell the floors have just been wiped and not mopped. Also the stove knobs do not have markings. You can’t tell if it’s on high or warm.

Perfection

This place was amazing! Let me start with saying, the staff and people who work at Alicia J. Reality were the best! They called and checked on us and made sure our stay was great! The property was very clean and had such a welcoming feel. The kitchen was great, all the appliances one may need or want. The location of the property was one of my favorite things about this rental. Being the last hotel on this strip of the beach made for less crowds and LOTS AND LOTS of undeveloped beach to walk and explore. The balcony of the room is placed right above the larger pool so if you have older kids (we had 2 preteens) it is perfect to be able to keep an eye on them for their early morning starts. The view of the ocean, and palm trees from the balcony screams island vibes and made for perfect sunset pictures. El Matador has a very laid back, family oriented feel to it which is exactly what we were looking for. If that is your type of environment, you can not go wrong with this rental! I would definitely recommend checking this place out! It will be our go to from now on!!!

Enjoyed the week

Place was in a great location for Covid. At the end of the line so not as many people on the Beach . Only thing negative was the rugs in the condo need to be cleaned. But we enjoyed our stay and met nice people who own there.

Loved the location of building 4. Condo was large in size. Somewhat dated. Washer/dryer was outside of unit but not a problem. Loved how you weren't far from the beach or pool. Two issues were the bed needs to be fixed in that we had to put pillows and towel to keep headboard from banging on wall and the electronic entry is definitely an issue that needs to be fixed. Definitely don't be caught without your key. Kinda of issue for us since only gave one key. We had to call for a second one due to my husband working and Ic ouldn't get in.
