Regionaal natuurpark Baronnies Provençales

The fusion of landscapes where the French Alps meet Provence is something special. Ancient rocky outcrops rise out of the ground offering breath-taking views of the patchwork fields below. An abundance of walk trails wind through the region but are not for the faint-hearted. Often relentlessly steep and remote, a bit of pre-planning and plenty of time to explore would be advantageous.

Take the winding back roads from Vaison-la-Romaine through to Valreas in the Cote de Rhone. You won't be disappointed by the views of lavender, vines and orchards. As well as quaint old villages. My favourite hilltop town was Grignan.

Beautiful building, my room was nicely decorated too, with a small balcony to enjoy the sun. In the front of the hotel is a small garden, where you can enjoy a free coffee or tea.But most importantly the amazing staff! So friendly, helpful, and they obviously love their job! The hotel is also well located, close to the train station, and a 10 minute walk to the beach. I will come back!
