The hotel is okay for a one night stay but not for everyone. Although the room was advertised as non-smoking, it clearly smelled of cigarettes and an ashtray was available in the room. It seems it’s also possible to smoke in the corridors. The hotel is clean but generally smells due to this issue. Another disappointing aspect was the distance from the airport. Unlike what appears on the hotel’s description, it is actually located around 20 minutes by car from the airport, the information provided on the website is deceiving. The shuttle works and is made available as needed however hotel was not responsive before arrival and had to ask airport staff to call them to send the shuttle (which was sent rapidly) Overall, quite disappointed with the hotel

This was our second time staying at Dongfang Hotel, this time on a family trip. We booked two rooms, and both were remarkably spacious, clean, and comfortable for everyone. ​The location is unbeatable: surrounded by great dining options and less than 300 meters away from two metro stations, which makes exploring Guangzhou with family very convenient. The hotel facilities are excellent, including a large swimming pool and a fitness center (though we didn't get to use the gym this time). ​The hospitality was top-notch. The staff speaks good English, making communication effortless. A special thank you to Carman at the front desk, who went above and beyond to assist us and make our family stay seamless. We will definitely keep coming back!
