'My experience was so mixed. The hotel was finished nicely and in an area that was convenient for me. The bed was comfortable and the room was what I needed it to be. It was nice, but there was no place to put any clothes except 5 hangers in the closet and the night stand drawer. My issue was the unevenness of the staff and pretty dysfunctional operations apparently behind the scenes. My fire alarm battery died in the middle of the night and the guy at the front desk said I'd have to wait until...

'The bar closes at 10. The restaurant won't seat you without a "reservation" even though it's half empty. They probably have a staff shortage but won't admit it. Lobby tables left un-bussed. We had to do it ourselves. Room service, vacuums, etc are left in the hall for multiple days, let alone hours. And those nice, clear shower doors? Accumulated soap scum from previous guests. The beds were comfortable and the rooms quiet, which was the most important. Overall, a disappointing experience.'

'It's a great location by the water front for relaxin. Easy access and very close to downtown. Friendly staff very nice hotel.'

'Such a bummer that we expected an amazing visit to the Hoxton but were disappointed by the uncomfortable bedding, slow WiFi and lacking room amenities. The room really needed somewhere we could put our luggage and I had to request a luggage stand from the front desk. In the age of gigabit Internet the Hoxton choose to allocate barely 10 Mb/s (I tested a few times) to our room which doesn't properly support streaming. But the real problem was the low bed frame, uncomfortable mattress (too soft)...

'This enormous old house in a delightful Portland neighborhood was a delight. (EXPEDIA was NOT a delight, however, because it failed to send me the key code I needed to get into the building. The on-site staff person told me my experience was typical.) Lots of fun restaurants (and Trader Joe) nearby, easy public transportation to downtown for people who don't walk.'

'I experienced an issue with the room phone, as there was no dial tone available unless I activated the speakerphone function. After troubleshooting the phone and successfully connecting to room service, the bartender responded by raising their voice and reprimanding me for allegedly calling and hanging up. Following this interaction, I contacted the front desk to report the situation. Unfortunately, my concerns were not acknowledged, and no apology was offered regarding the bartender's behavior...
