Luxury holiday apartment in cottage style with loft/mezzanine in a rural area with beautiful views. Leave the hustle and bustle of everyday life behind and immerse yourself in the peace and beauty of the countryside. Enjoy the charm of the picturesque villages and be inspired by the silence of nature. Your cottage is fully equipped. Stylish design, comfort and with all the authentic details of the cowshed. With private entrance, private garden, terrace and separate enclosed canopy with wood stove and jacuzzi: this can be optionally booked.
Completely furnished with kitchen, bathroom, living room, 1 bedroom on the ground floor. An open loft with a double bed. Hallway with separate toilet.

You can stay with a maximum of 4 people. A staircase takes you to the mezzanine: the former hayloft. Sleep wonderfully on a queen-size bed. (standing height 1.65!) This is an open space with a view downwards. The second spacious bedroom has a king-size bed (180 cm) with television and is on the ground floor.

The kitchen is equipped with all kinds of equipment to make yourself comfortable. These include: dishwasher, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator with freezer, coffee maker (fast filter and dolce gusto), kettle. This self-catering apartment makes it easy to completely withdraw from the outside world and enjoy your peace and quiet and the garden and nature around the farm.
The bathroom has a shower with rain shower and a bath. It comes standard with a welcome package with soap, shampoo, shower gel and body lotion. Taking time for yourself and relaxing becomes very easy. The washing machine and sink are also equipped with a shaving/make-up mirror.

The relaxation/living area has a large lounge sofa where you can comfortably lie next to each other and watch television. The TV has digital channels and Chromecast to watch and stream your favorite movies and programs from your phone. There is also a Bluetooth soundbar to stream your own music. The room is heated by a pellet stove and central heating.

Due to the layout of the apartment, the terrace, the stairs, the loft and the deep pond (1.80 m), we consider it less suitable for children and/or people with mobility problems. The apartment is pet-free.

The entire space of the Barn, terrace and garden is privately at your disposal during the entire stay. The jacuzzi is also not used by others.

Our cottages are intended for those who seek peace, quiet and relaxation. Parties, loud music and noise are not allowed.
From the parking lot you walk to the fence door that says: the Barn. There is another holiday home on the site - the Bird's Nest Oldekerk - this is for 2 people; the parking lot and the walkway along the ditch are shared, everything else is private.

Other things to pay attention to
The jacuzzi can optionally be booked privately for 1 or more days. (30 euros per day, to be paid in cash on arrival) Read the hygiene rules upon arrival. The jacuzzi is in a covered canopy with comfortable chairs and a wood stove. This way you can relax and bubble all year round without being bothered by the cold, wind or rain.

Aurora Hoeve is located in an area without street lights, making it a dark sky area. With clear weather you have a beautiful view of the twinkling stars and beautiful skies when it is dark. We therefore ask you to turn off all the outside lights when you go to bed. We even observed the Aurora Borealis this year!

The Barn is located in the Westerkwartier of the province of Groningen. In the middle of the countryside and meadows. 15 minutes by car from the city of Groningen and the provinces of Friesland and Drenthe. With beautiful walking and cycling routes. Lauwersmeer nature reserve or take the boat to Schiermonnikoog and explore the Wadden Islands.

Parking is free at the accommodation. There is no electric charging station. There is a bus stop 1 km away. And a train station in Zuidhorn and Grijpskerk, both 8 minutes by car.
