  • Greenstone cottage is located in the heart of Lake Country in the lovely community of Oconomowoc, "the City with two lakes". Oconomowoc is conveniently located to Milwaukee (35 minutes) or Madison (50 minutes). This 100 year old cottage home is loved and lived in. Here you can relax and enjoy the convenient two block walk to great experiences; such as casual or fine dining, shopping specialty shops, the board walk on Fowler Lake offers: comfortable seating for visiting, relaxing, also fishing, kayaking launching pad, boat docking, Lake la Bell beach is fabulous for swimming, boat rentals, and evening music at the band shell. You can enjoy the experience of many festivals in the city green or local park through out the seasons.

Carol was a wonderful and communicative host. The Cottage was very cute, comfortable, and made us feel right at home. The location was within walking distance to multiple restaurants and coffee shops, and was an easy drive to/from the airport. We were in town for a bonspiel at the Kettle Moraine Curling Club and the cottage was a perfect spot for our trip - would absolutely stay here again in the future!

This home is wonderful! It’s clean, so charming and comfortable! There’s a cute back porch to sit in as well as an outdoor patio with a beautiful yard! We used all three bedrooms and each bed was comfortable! We walked to town and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again!

Wonderful Stay by downtown and the lakes

Lovely property with great outdoor space and incredible kitchen. Nice sitting area and separate dining room. 3 bedrooms upstairs and an additional single bed on the first floor. Very convenient to all that downtown Oconomowoc has to offer. Fantastic host - local and very helpful.

Lovely place. Perfect for our family visit. Beautifully decorated for the holidays and very welcoming. We would highly recommend this property! Landlord was very helpful and accommodating. We are so pleased with our decision to stay here.

Great Oconomowoc Place!

Greenstone Cottage was the perfect place to stay while ringing in the New Year 2024 in Wisconsin. It was extremely clean and comfortable, and the host's attention to detail and thoughtfulness made our stay so enjoyable. The two block walk to shops, bars and restaurants was very convenient. We will definitely be booking again next time we're in Oconomowoc!

Nice house, good location

Greenstone Cottage was clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. We appreciated being able to walk near the lake and to restaurants in downtown Oconomowoc. Property manager was easy to reach and helpful.

Perfect location to enjoy Oconomowoc

We stayed from 6/19-26 with my family. We loved everything about Greenstone Cottage and plan to stay again next summer. Communication with owner was pleasant, easy, and quick. We loved the central location and ability to walk around the downtown area everyday.

We Can't rave enough about this well equipped, gracious, clean home. Great location, beautiful home and yard. We didnt need a thing....except food once we got there. We'd come back in a jiff.

Wonderful Home

We had a great experience at the Greenstone Cottage. The home is very well updated with modern kitchen amenities, TVs in nearly every room, and the host went above and beyond to provide drinks and fridge items to make the stay more convenient. This truly felt like a home with the books, furniture, and overall had a very warming-welcome atmosphere. It was a quick and easy 5m walk to downtown/lake (Roots coffee is awesome!) and there there are even a few good options for food and coffee right across the street.It was our first time in Oconomowoc (for a wedding) and we'll definitely be back and will hopefully stay in here again.

The house was very cozy. My friends and I were welcomed with fresh cut flowers from the gardens and cold sparkling water in the fridge. There were helpful instructions posted through out the house.

Lovely cottage in excellent location

Greenstone Cottage is a lovely home within short distance of everything you would want to do in the Oconomowoc area. The 100 year old cottage has a beautiful ambience and is very homey and comfortable. Extremely well equipped kitchen is a joy to cook in. Host is a beautiful woman intent on making your stay perfect. Only comment was the be clear in listing that bedrooms are upstairs.

A Home Away From Home

You pull into the driveway and see an adorable house with flowers all around. It sets the stage. Walking in the front door you realize you're in a home that's filled with beautiful and interesting decorations. The kitchen is fresh and clean with modern appliances. Bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The bedrooms were better than most hotel rooms because you felt like you were in a home rather a room with no personality. 5/5 amazing communication from the property owner. We will plan on coming back!!

Great host, house, and location!

My two adult daughters (23, 21), one significant other (24), and I stayed at Greenstone Cottage for my son's wedding in Nashotah on 6/15. The location was perfect for all the wedding festivities in the area, and we enjoyed the short walk into Oconomowoc a few times for coffee or a local restaurant. Carol (host) was attentive and easy to reach and communicate with. We loved that the house had character (in a good way!) and we could easily spread out when we wanted to.

Cozy Thanksgiving Home Base

Our family used the cottage as home base for visiting family over the Thanksgiving holiday. This is one of the most well-appointed properties we’ve rented with many extra touches to make sure everyone is comfortable and welcome. The 4 of us had plenty of space to spread out and we even had the space and facilities to host a family me. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen very thoroughly set up’s there are several sitting areas indoors and plenty of outdoor space as well, including a 3-season porch with pellet stove, a fire pit area and patio with gas grill. Very confidently located within blocks of downtown, numerous restaurants, parks and coffee shops within walking distance. We look forward to returning next time we visit!

A beautiful home in a wonderful little town

We stayed at the Greenstone Cottage for a long weekend to play in an ultimate frisbee tournament. I was expecting a nice house, based on the photos, but was more impressed when we arrived because of how much care had obviously been put into renovating this charming old house with modern fixtures and cabinets, and the love that the owners put into making the house a great place to stay. Important information was provided in a handy book, and all of the cabinets and switches were clearly labeled, making it easy to become quickly comfortable during our stay. The owner was very easy to work with, and suggested that we take a some time to check out the boardwalk only a block away from the house, and we were so glad we did this during our stay. Oconomowoc is a charming, beautiful little town.
