The house itself was fine in most ways. There were noticeable lacks - any towel bars that had been in the shared bathroom had fallen off. There was only one small hook in the master bathroom. There were only 4 coffee/tea mugs in a house that can sleep up to 8 people.The main problem we encountered was the absolutely terrible communication with the management company.It took until after 1:00 on the check-in date to get the access code for the house. We 4 women in our late 70s arrived to find that the access code did not work on any doors. I contacted Marbella Lane and after way too many delays and back and forth messages, we were told that a locksmith would be arriving in about 2 hours! It was cold and dark, and we had no access to a bathroom. We decided to go out for dinner and to get warm. While there, I got a call from the locksmith who said he was on his way from a town two hours away! There is the very good-sized town of Oak Harbor about 20 minutes away from the house. Were there truly NO locksmiths closer?We finally got into the house at 9:00, 5 hours after we got there.I contacted the management company the next day to express our extreme frustration and to ask for some monetary compensation for the first night. After much delay, we were offered 10% off of the first night's stay, or a whopping 17.00!At that point I contacted VRBO support, and they were able to get us a 50% refund for one night. We will never rent from Marbella Lane again.
