  • Nestled in the heart of North Charleston is The Marie. The Marie encompasses 5 generations of authentic low country living. Whether it's a girl's trip, bro's weekend, couples getaway, or family retreat, The Marie is where you want to be.

    The Marie offers a mix of traditional, modern, and low country setting that offers comfort and privacy. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of downtown Charleston and escape to The Marie to relax after a busy day of shopping and eating.

    The property encompasses space for up to 6 people comfortably and basic home amenities, television streaming (Netflix, Sling, Roku), and peace. Please be advised that local channels are only available via Sling. Central AC and ceiling fans are present. There are also a few baby amenities including high chair, play mat, baby wipe warmer, bottle cleaning rack, and travel crib. We're ready to host you.

    We're located in the heart of North Charleston near interstate 26, Rivers Ave, and University Blvd. Close to shopping, recreation, grocery, and restaurants. Tanger Outlets, Amtrak, Airport, and Convention Center are approx 15 mins drive. Downtown historic Charleston is about 20 mins drive. Folly beach is approximately 22 miles away and Wannamaker water park is 8 mins away.


    Note: Trash and recycling bins should be placed on the curb for collection no earlier than 8pm Tuesday night for Wednesday morning collection. If guest is staying at the residence thru Wednesday, please collect the bins by 6pm Wednesday and return them back to an open location next to the garage.

    Pets are welcome, but be advised that there is a $65 pet fee for up to 2 dogs of medium size. Reservations will more than 2 pets will incur an additional $25 charge. Please take care to clean up after your little ones. Waste bags are provided to keep the yard clean.

    By submitting a reservation, and upon subsequent approval by the host of the reservation, guest agrees to absolve host of all injury and property liabilities incurred on the property. Guests will be held responsible for all damage to the property. Email for Hourly/Dayuse Rates.

This was the most recent of several stays at The Marie, and we’re already booked for another. The property remains a great home away from home. Clean, comfortable, spacious, and centrally located. As I recently told the owner, it’s as close to perfect as you can get (for us at least). I’m so glad we found this gem. And the owners are fantastic to work with!

The property was great for our stay. There were many details and amenities that made it comfortable. Plenty of towels, supplies -even for our dog. Yard and patio were great for hanging out. Neighborhood is close to everything. We stayed for a Citadel graduation.

There is literally nothing I would change about this house. The house is so clean, spacious and in a perfect location. 20 minutes to downtown and 10 minutes to the airport. You will need for nothing - beds were made, towels, beach stuff, washer, dryer and detergent. I could go on - just pack your clothes and you are ready! Thank you for sharing this gem!

The home was very clean, had everything we needed!! Very nice & quiet neighborhood. The host was very responsive whenever I reached out with a question. The grill was nice and we enjoyed having our S.C. family over for a cookout. We were going to bring our pup, but changed our plans…the backyard would have been perfect for her. This was our third stay and we will continue coming back. It’s just a great property with great owners. They recently upgraded the master bath shower and it is really nice!

The Marie is wonderful, what a gem this place is! This home lacks for nothing. Our family stayed 5 nights. This home’s location makes getting around very easy. It is clean, comfortable, and located in a quiet neighbourhood. The Marie has a homey relaxing feel about it. We appreciated the comfortable beds at the end of a long day of being out and about. The kitchen is fully equipped if you want to cook a meal, or BBQ in the beautiful backyard. It has everything you’d need for a beach day too. The host was quick to rely to emails, and checking in was a breeze. We would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it.

Lovely Charleston Stay

Our friend group stayed for the High Water Music festival. We had a lovely time staying at the Marie. The beds were comfortable and the home was clean.

This home was nice for a long weekend stay (or a week) to visit family or explore scenic sights in the downtown area. The VRBO location is well accessible, but remember that Hwy 52 is a major thoroughfare to all communities. Communication with the owner was great when needed. The fenced-in backyard was a good space for entertaining a small group, although we did not. The negative was that the grass was not cut, which made it unpleasant in the morning dew and during afternoon play with the dogs. The mosquitoes and nates were out and biting.
