⭐️The Cabin Space
The Wood Duck Cabin beautifully balances rustic charm with modern comforts. Unlike some of our deep-forest hike-in properties, this tiny cabin features convenient drive-to access, allowing you to unpack with ease and take some time to explore the small towns nearby.
Inside the bright, single-room space, a queen-sized bed waits to offer a restful night's sleep. While the cabin purposefully has no indoor plumbing to maintain a light environmental footprint, it is fully equipped with electricity. You will enjoy a cozy fireplace, seasonal air conditioning, a microwave, a small fridge and freezer, a coffee maker, and a 55-inch Smart TV for relaxing evenings indoors.

🗺The Outdoor Experience
Outside your door, the true magic of the escarpment unfolds. Start your mornings on the deck sipping coffee while watching the morning mist rise off the water, keeping an eye out for local waterfowl, deer, and vibrant marsh life. Your private outdoor area comes complete with a BBQ and propane, and a dedicated campfire pit with outdoor chairs —perfect for stargazing under big, unpolluted night skies. Nearby, a private, well-maintained outhouse box and a seasonal outdoor solar shower tent provide a clean, low-impact way to freshen up during your stay.

🍁Trails and Water Adventures
Your stay includes full access to over 30 kilometres of rugged Canadian Shield hiking and snowshoeing trails right on the property. Take a peaceful trek up to the escarpment lookout for breathtaking panoramic views of Golden Lake. If you love the water, a short 10-minute walk brings you to the shores of Golden Lake where a pair of complimentary kayaks, paddles, and life jackets are waiting for you.
