Went back to the front desk explained how we had spent so many hours in the car and we needed to get some sleep, if we could please have a top floor room. 'The Castañeda Hotel is a very historic Harvey House built over 100 years ago. After being abandoned for years, it was meticulously renovated a few years ago. My wife and I were excited to spend a night to experience the ambiance. Yvonne at the front desk was friendly and took plenty of time to visit and make recommendations for dining etc. All the rooms are unique and differently decorated. 'Clean room was quiet. Gives that hostel feel common areas and rooms with keys. Like the snacks they have on hand a lot are free but they have some for sale as well. '

'Extremely clean rooms! Comfortable beds! (and I am picky about both!) It had a “homey” feeling. This place is a rare find. It is run by a husband and wife that are very kind and very accommodating. This is my second time staying here. On this trip our group of 6 rented 2 rooms and everyone in our group enjoyed their stay. I will stay here EVERY TIME I travel through Raton, NM.'
