'I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I ASKED FOR EGGS AND TOAST AND WHATEVER MEAT THEY SERVE I DONT NEED ANYTHING ELSE. THERE REPLY WAS "WE ARE NOT DENNYS" ... I DECIDED NOT TO EAT AND LEFT EARLY THAT MORNING. IVE BEEN TO MANY BED AND BREAKFAST AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE FOR A SIMPLE BREAKFAST REQUEST. NOT COOL AT ALL.'

'Very charming, clean and comfortable '

'Had a nice overnight stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Great having EV charging right in the parking lot! Staff was helpful and friendly.'

'The property was great for what I needed it for: a cheap place close to the Herkimer Diamond Mine (about 10 minutes). It is dated, but you expect that with the price. The worst part was the AC did not work super great, although not bad enough to tell someone. It was very clean, and staff was friendly, although they did seem annoyed with how late we showed. Love the little kitchen nook but wish it had a coffee maker.'

'There were no amenities . I didn't bring my hair dryer or iron my clothes. Because most places have these. No microwaves or mini fridge . Coffee maker in lounge area . Tiny bottle of shampoo and bar of soap . Place is very dated not very clean and overpriced for what you get . But the lady at front desk was very friendly and took us right to our room . This place could be a beautiful hotel if the right people up kept it . It's resting on its laurels . I wouldn't return .'

'Charming and comfortable suite. This is an old building, stairs and floors are well out of square and weathered. All things we needed were provided and clean!! Rare and treasured. Restaurant under construction 11/2025. No fuss, easy communication via text.'

'The Grand Colonial is a great choice for a temporary home in the Herkimer area. So rich in American Revolutionary history, the old mansion is an historic relic that is kept up-to-date by its current owners. Mike was our host, and he couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We give it our highest recommendation.'

'The surrounding area looks economically depressed and we had some initial concerns about safety. Check in was easy. We were provided with two keys for the front door and room door. The house is well maintained and in keeping with original design. We stayed in the wine and roses room which is next door to the kitchen. If you like to sleep in, this is not the room for you due to breakfast noise. The breakfast was good and timely. There was a hot option (bread pudding and chicken and herb sausage)...
