Het was een schitterend hotel, centraal gelegen en toch iets rustiger. Niet te groot, personeel was erg vriendelijk. Dus zo moet een hotel zijn.

Zeer gezellig, aangenaam, centraal gelegen hotel.
Gezellig hotel, met hulpvaardig en vriendelijk personeel. Op het bovenste verdiep is een bar (andere uitbaters dan het hotel en open van 16u tot middernacht), waar je als hotelgast 24/24, 7/7 binnen kunt en kan genieten van het mooie terras. De kamer (petite room) was meer dan voldoende ruim (ik dacht dat het kleiner zou aanvoelen), met een perfecte indeling van de ruimte die er is. Overdag wordt de kamer perfect onderhouden en water aangevuld en 's avonds wordt er een laatste check gedaan waar men het weerbericht (met een belgisch chocolaatje) voor de volgende dag klaar legt en een jazz deuntje op de radio opzet. De ligging van het hotel is perfect. Op 2 minuten stappen van Grand Central Station, van waaruit meer dan voldoende metro's vertrekken. Er is zelfs een shuttle metro van Grand Central Station naar Time Square, wat van het hotel op een 10 minuten wandelen is. Het ontbijt is lekker en meer dan voldoende om de dag te beginnen, koffie en thee is de hele dag beschikbaar en in de late namiddag is er kaas en wijn ter beschikking. Als je tips nodig hebt, zoals 'Welke Jazz bar raadt je ons aan?', dan helpen ze je aan de receptie met veel plezier verder en stellen ze zelfs voor om de reservatie voor jou te maken. Zéér hulpvaardig personeel. Als er een volgend bezoek aan NYC komt, dan zien ze ons terug in The Library Hotel!

We frequently love the hotel we choose-- I do a lot of research-- though we end up staying at a new place each time for variety. But after The Library we have a 'home' in Manhattan. Perfect in every way and amazing value.

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. Great service and friendly, accommodating staff. The second floor with coffee, water and snacks anytime of the day and night a plus. The rooftop adds another layer of ambience. All in all the perfect hotel.

Good location, pleasant rooms, friendly staff and the 2nd floor lounge is a nice facility. Downsides - it's not very easy to find, surrounded by scaffolding; the rooms are a little dark (nothing better lighting wouldn't fix); and there are no coffee-making facilities in the rooms, which is just wrong.

Although, we do understand we can be difficult to find, we do state that our entrance is on 41st street on all of confirmation and pre-stay emails. To maximize space for our guests, we do not place coffee-making machines in the room, but they are available for our guests if you should request one. We hope to see you again.

Loved our stay here! Staff at the front desk was welcoming and very friendly. Our room was cozy and had everything we needed. The second floor offers a quiet place to sit and provides snacks, water, and coffee! The rooftop bar was very nice with great cocktails and tasty small bites. The area is busy with lots to see and many places to eat - returning to the hotel at the end of our long days was always super pleasant.

Library Hotel is a hidden gem in Manhattan, especially for book lovers, with its unique books decor setting in every nook and cranny. My husband and I loved the ease of access to the Reading Room on the 2nd floor with 24 hour availability of healthy snacks - a sufficient variety of mixed nuts (at least 4 different options), energy bars and fruits (apples, bananas), coffee, teas and water. The Reading Room encouraged afternoon lounging and a place to revive after a day out walking. The hotel is ideally located along Library Way within a block of the New York Public Library and around the corner from the Grand Central Station (for ease of transportation links) and close enough (walkable) to shopping, theatre and other scenic sites (like the St Patrick's Cathedral). At each step, from check in to check out, the hotel's team members (whether at the front desk, cleaning staff or at the Reading Room) were very approachable, accommodating and personable. The hotel's on-site restaurant Madison and Vine offered well-presented and tasty Italian meal options. Having arrived late evening from a long international flight we were welcomed there and immediately served (at around 9.30pm). Our petite room booked was more than apt, on the 8th Floor with our selected Literature theme. Overall, we loved the hotel's cosy, comfortable and feel-inspired writers' vibe, and we would stay again. Thank you Library Hotel!

The staff was so friendly and courteous. The amenities were above and beyond all expectations. Umbrellas were provided as we went out to explore the city in the rain, espresso and gourmet snacks in the reading room and extra treats at the rooftop lounge (just for being a guest). The room was also very spacious for a boutique hotel in the city. Easy walk to major sites, museums and shows. We’ll definitely stay here again - every time we come to NYC.

I’ve stayed at your hotel years ago and it was wonderful. With that said, I was so incredibly disappointed this time. The hotel is so rundown. The rooms were old, the walls were stained, the towels were so ratty that they felt like sandpaper, the sofa was disgusting, and the toiletry products were sub par. If you want to continue charging what you do, then you need to do some simple upgrades.

Loved the whole library vibe, even the quiet reading room! The rooftop bar was not very helpful and we felt a bit stupid for not following what seemed to be the process. Reservations for a bar? Closing time? Where to sit? All in all, a wonderful place.

We were blown away by our stay. The staff was friendly and the property was gorgeous. The lounge area on the second floor was a game changer and being able to get an espresso and a small snack was a great way to decompress after walking around the city. The room was small, but honestly larger than we expected and was perfect for our needs. We will go out of our way to stay here again and would highly recommend it to our friends.

Staff was excellent. Extremely helpful. The library on the 2nd floor is the best thing about the hotel. Coffee, tea, sodas, nuts and fruit are always available in that comfortable room. Great place to gather. Picked up bagels in the morning, brought them back there for breakfast. Room was very small for the price. I've stayed all over the city for higher and lower prices, this was one of the smallest rooms. Service at the rooftop bar and in the 1st floor restaurant is very slow.
