Porto Santo Stefano with restaurants, shops and supermarkets is within easy reach. From here you can also take a ferry to the island of Giglio. The Orbetello Lagoon Nature Reserve with its 1,500 hectares of marshland is only a short drive away and is home to rare bird species such as pink flamingos and white herons. Orbetello itself has a charming historic centre with narrow streets and a lively piazza. For a day by the sea, there are long sandy beaches with fine white sand, and from nearby Porto Ercole boats can be hired to explore the stunning coastline.

This contemporary villa is conceived as a cluster of buildings and terraces that blend harmoniously into the hillside through the clever use of natural stone, glass, wood and concrete. It is surrounded by terraced Mediterranean gardens, with the pool lying below the villa and the tennis court above it.

A glass-fronted living area with exposed stone walls, wooden beam ceilings and sleek black slate floors creates a dramatic space.
