The space
Located on the Seabird coast, Hauraki District. A one bedroom home stay cottage with sleeping for 4 persons offers travellers a place to rest and relax after a day’s travel or just to unwind for a weekend away .The Miranda Hot Springs is a popular attraction, with thermally heated fresh mineral water pools 5 min drive.
Cafe: Stray Dog Cafe – I minute up the road.
Taste Kaiaua's famous fish and chips at Kaiaua Fisheries Restaurant. Dine in their licensed restaurant or enjoy wrapped takeaway food.
Pukorokoro Miranda Shorebird Centre is an excellent stop to escape the city and have a look at some of New Zealand’s amazing bird life. Best bird-watching is two hours either side of high tide. The Seabird Coast is a popular attraction, home to up to 20,000 migratory seabirds and waders, rich in marine life, and an ideal spot for bird watching, picnics and fishing.

Great!

Had a great couple of nights. Excellent wheelchair access, amazing sea view, friendly chickens, delicious free apples. Perfect spot if you're heading to Miranda to view shore birds.

A bird watching weekend in paradise 26/7/24-28/7/24

This beautifully appointed cottage, next to Barry the owners home, has everything and more, than you could ever need. The view from the cottage is over rural farm land and out to the Shorebird Coast, Firth of Thames and the Coromandel ranges beyond. The moment I arrived from central Auckland I felt myself start to relax. Barry was very friendly and helpful. A definite bonus for me was his late mother's NIV Bible, which I found in my bedside draw the evening I arrived. The cottage is fully accessible for wheelchair users. We were able to heat it easily with the heaters provided. We feel in love with the place and will definitely be back again. Thanks Barry for making our 21st Wedding Anniversary awesome.

Peaceful Time Out

It was wonderful to get away from the busyness of Auckland life and spend a weekend in a peaceful and serene environment. Beautiful outlook looking over the Thames Firth, water and farmland. Barry was super helpful and there's even the added bonus of fruit trees! Loved every moment and will be back.

This is a wonderful property with a lovely host. The place was clean, very comfortable and well appointed. You can see the care and consideration in the details. I'm so grateful we were able to enjoy the breathtaking views and relax after our long flight. My only regret is that we didn't stay longer.

Miranda getaway

Very nice little batch suited for our family of four. Barry was a fantastic host and very friendly. He even took our oldest son that is three to feed their chickens and collect their eggs. All in all a fantastic stay and would recommend to other people to come and stay.

Peaceful and calming

Such a lovely place to spend time. Great view of landscapes. So peaceful, not too far from shops but far enough to enjoy and relax, away from the busyness of town life. Barry was welcoming and easy to deal with. The apple tree has really good apples on it and we were lucky enough to take some home. Amazing place to be. Thank you for your hospitality! Would definitely recomment!

Amazing stay in Miranda!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this Bach. It had everything we needed, great views, welcoming hosts and plenty to do nearby. We walked to a lovely cafe a few minutes away, saw the local birds at a bird sanctuary and enjoyed time on the beach! I can only recommend this place for a peaceful holiday away from Auckland!
