We loved our long weekend at Whispering Walnut! Jen and Ian have created an inviting, peaceful space that we loved coming home to at the end of the day. The location was perfect - just a short, scenic walk (or bike ride) to shopping, restaurants, and recreational trails. We will definitely stay again on our next Stillwater visit. 10/10!

A Hidden Gem with Heart and HistoryWhispering Walnut exceeded every expectation. Ian and Pam have created something truly special — a beautifully designed carriage house that blends modern comfort with deep, authentic character. The story of the old walnut oak tree living on in the custom-crafted furniture is something you simply don’t find anywhere else.Ian was incredibly welcoming and genuine. You can tell he and Pam put real love into this property and their guests. If you’re looking for a stay that feels personal and memorable — look no further. We’ll absolutely be back.

We had an amazing stay at this Stillwater VRBO during our mini-moon after our wedding. The home was clean, comfortable, and exactly as described in the listing. It felt like the perfect place to relax and unwind while still being close to everything downtown Stillwater has to offer. While there was plenty of street parking available, the two off-street spots made parking especially convenient.The hosts were incredibly kind and quick to respond, which made everything easy from booking through checkout.If you’re looking for a great place to stay in Stillwater, we’d absolutely recommend Whispering Walnut. We’d gladly stay here again!

Wonderful place, so warm and welcoming. It’s just as beautiful in person as in the pictures. Loved the story of the old walnut tree and to find it incorporated into the rental in so many ways. This location is great, as it’s close to downtown historic Stillwater but also a short drive to Willow Falls State park which we really enjoyed. We will definitely be back!!

This is a well thought out apartment. It was spotlessly clean, well-furnished, and the bed was very comfortable. My wife and I enjoyed our time there. I did have to give the description only three stars instead of five. The claim regarding the properties proximity to downtown was a major factor in our choice but it's a tad misleading. "Steps to downtown" turned out to be 152 steps on a fairly steep stairway from the top of the bluff to downtown. We did end up driving most of the time, but parking is plentiful (at least this time of year) so it wasn't a major issue for us. Just a word of warning to those who might have some mobility issues.

We absolutely loved our stay! The house was immaculately clean and smelled amazing the minute we walked in. It was so thoughtfully decorated—every space felt cozy, welcoming, and well put together. I especially loved the little nod to the historic home next door by incorporating those same beautiful focal windows into the new build. Such a unique and charming detail. The bedding and linens were incredibly comfortable, and everything just felt high quality and cozy. The location was great too—super close to Main Street, easy to get to everything, but still tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. We would 100% stay here again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to friends and family. Such a wonderful place to stay!

This a wonderful property. It’s decorated beautifully and has pretty much everything you might need! Very easy check in and check out process. So many windows to let natural light in that we barely had to turn on a light ever! The hosts clearly put so much care and effort into this property and we appreciated all the little details and the helpful info in the welcome guide.

Our hosts Pam & Ian were very welcoming. They responded to our questions/needs immediately. The home is gorgeous and very smartly decorated/furnished. My only downside were the stairs to get down to the driveway....steep but manageable for a 68 year-old lady who has a bit of paranoia about heights :) Won't stop us from going back!

Our stay at Whispering Walnut was absolutely lovely! The home is spotless, beautifully decorated, and filled with thoughtful touches that made it feel extra special. The setting is peaceful and quiet — just the right mix of cozy and refreshing. We especially loved the location: close to an iconic overlook enabling a beautiful view of the town. This location provides access to an extremely long stairway that took us right into the heart of all activity. Lots of great shops, restaurants and bar by the river. Highly recommend Whispering Walnut for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!

The Whispering Walnut was beautiful and perfect! Pam and Ian went above and beyond with every thoughtful detail to make this stay just right! The location was perfect for exploring Stillwater - downtown was just a couple of blocks and down the overlook stairs. It was nice to walk into town and then be able to leave the busy streets for a quiet place to sleep!
