Cosy Coastal Cottage

This cosy cottage is part of Blue Moon Cottages, two beautifully decorated cottages just 250 metres from the bayside beach at Rye on the Southern tip of the Mornington Peninsula.This character filled cottage is decorated with a subtle classic neutral theme.It is spacious and can accommodate a couple or a family with an infant.The cottage is also pet friendly with an outdoor courtyard which is fully fenced and pets are welcome inside.

Living:

Walking into the cottage the wooden clad interior has a cosy lounge with log fire for winter stays and French doors to open up to the courtyard in summer.A leather chair and comfy sofa give a feeling of log cabin hideaway to the room.The lounge opens further to a dining area with four chairs and a fully equipped kitchen.

Sleeping:

There is a large carpeted bedroom at the gable end of the cottage, beautifully decorated with hanging bedside lamps, wrought iron bed and wall mounted TV.

Convenient beach shack

The Sandpiper is small, clean and comfortable, courtesy of a cosy sofa, soft mattress and newish (albeit small) kitchen and bathroom. The outdoor area is great for taking in the sea air with breakfast or a glass of wine. The shade umbrella works well to keep the hot sun off. It’s also close to Rye front beach, a sub-10 min stroll. Sandpiper doesn’t offer much spatial or sonic privacy, so is ideal for a ‘familiar’ couple and in our case a quiet dog. There are a few minor annoyances, namely a temperamental TV set and fiddly kitchen blinds, which may not bother some people. Overall, Sandpiper is best for shorter stays for those who don’t need a lot of room and value proximity to the beach and Rye shops.

The Sandpiper Cottage was the perfect space for our get away. Lovely courtyard to relax in for a tipple or two. Only 2 blocks from the beach and a short stroll to the cafes and shops. Would highly recommend staying here.

Lovely Cottage

Cottage is perfect for a couple. It is comfortably fitted out. We had a few complications in when we would arrive (our own doing) and the owner was very helpful and responsive in communications. Has a wood heater for winter, along with other heaters if you don't want the fire, which makes it nice and cosy. The kitchen is well equipped. There is no view to speak of but there is a nice courtyard to sit in with a BBQ for the warmer weather which would be nice and quiet. It is a very short drive to supermarket and places to eat or else a comfortable 15 minute walk. Overall we were very happy with our stay.
