Simply lovely! It is difficult to describe in words how wonderful our time was in Lyon, staying at the apartment on Rue Lantern. A map does not provide justice demonstrating the apartments location to nearly EVERYTHING in town. A ten-minute walk (or less) in any direction provides you access to the food markets, old town, fabulous restaurants, shopping districts the symphony, multiple theaters and museums, and the metro. Within seconds of the apartment, there are 2 grocery stores, a wine shop, a wonderful bakery and 3 or 4 cafes! The apartment was immaculate and well appointed with every amenity you would need for a long stay (we were there for nearly 3 weeks). We spent our days exploring Lyon, and our evenings sipping wonderful wine, noshing on excellent cheese and olives, and sipping cappuccinos and sharing French ice cream – the apartment was stocked with everything you would expect in your own kitchen. The apartment windows provided excellent opportunities to people watch the activities of the quaint street below, and was very quiet in the evenings. My wife and I traveled with our 3-year-old daughter, but the home was very spacious, and could have easily accommodated our friends and their children as well. Evelyn went out of her way to provide the best experience possible, demonstrating the meaning of true hospitality. She greeted us at the apartment upon our arrival, providing details of the apartment, and nearby resources to make our stay even more enjoyable. She checked in with a day after our arrival to make sure we had everything that we needed and expected, and contacted a taxi service on our behalf on our way out of town. In more than once instance she went out of her way to help accommodate our 3-week stay. We will absolutely return to this apartment, and have referred our friends and family as well!
