Best property we've stayed in!
Villa Lefki is a beautifully located property and of a very high standard. We had everything we needed and the views were incredible! We chose it because of the big 12m pool - perfect for swimming in. Our holiday took several years to achieve because of the Pandemic but we finally got there and it was worth the wait because the villa was the best we've stayed in. Thanks to Katerina, Anna and team for being so very helpful in all communication. The Villas Thalassa team were excellent. If we needed help they sent someone round within 30 minutes! Arris was their fix-it superstar, and our contact Theo (and his wife) were so helpful. We really appreciated their advice on what to do on the island. When our flight arrived extremely late in the evening Theo was there at the villa to welcome us. The complimentary bottle of wine was divine!
During our stay we experienced short power and water supply cuts but we know from friends that this is the Lefkada way of life. Things usually get back to normal quickly. There were two stray cats that lived nearby (another Greek norm) which were fed by the islanders. Take care! One is young and friendly and can scratch while playing. The other has one eye and is timid - but they both appreciated scraps of food and water. We couldn't help falling in love with both.
All rooms have aircon and windows have superb electronic black-out blinds. A gentle lift with your hand normally helped the lounge blind lift up if it got stuck.
We hired a motorboat from 'Ionian Charters' (just Google the name) in Sivota Marina. Our boat was called London and was perfect for 4 people. Yannis owns the boats and also a restaurant in Sivota Marina. We booked online in advance and sailed round the Island of Meganissi in a day, snorkelled in coves and then stopped off at a wonderful taverna for lunch (Yannis will show you) it's set on its own, staff help you moor along the jetty, it has its own tiny beach, plenty of shade and homemade lemonade! The day on the boat was the highlight of our holiday. A car is a must when you stay at Villa Lefki because of the 2 km unmade dusty road to Sivota, and to enable you to see the rest of the beautiful island. Be sure to make the most of the precious cove that is a 20 minute walk from the property. Access to the cove is steep and unfortunately not suitable for people with walking difficulties. The cove has a small private beach but the owners allow people to use it - a quiet and truly beautiful place!
