'Room was not clean!!! Also, I put food in a plastic bag in the fridge and it smelled like beer which tells me it wasn't cleaned properly!!!!'

'Checking in was awful as they tried to sell us a more expensive room with all kinds of excuses. Fine if you want to upgrade us for free, but don’t start with all the nonsense. The rooms are in need of an update. Would not stay here again.'

'A pretty interesting stay. Expedia said check in was at 3, but when we arrived, a clearly posted sign said check in was 4. There was no one in the lobby and I had to press a button to ring for them. The man at the counter was nice enough, but he needed to go check to make sure our room was cleaned. We waited close to 10 minutes in the lobby before he returned. There was no A/C in the lobby and there were dehumidifiers running in the halls. When we checked in I was not asked for ID or a credit...

'Staff dont help as much as you would like'

'We had a very clean and nicely updated room. Staff was friendly and parking wasn’t an issue. Overall it was a very pleasant stay.'

'We were assigned Room 101. Unfortunately, it was not clean. We found several cigarette butts under the bed, which was especially concerning since we were traveling with our toddler. We had expected a clean, non-smoking room. On a positive note, the management was friendly and helpful, but the cleanliness of the room was disappointing.'

'We returned from supper and front desk clerk did not even look up from her phone. A yellow bucket, full of dirty mop, water and a dirty mop was right at the front desk Our Shower had mildew growing along the edge Breakfast buffet might’ve been OK if it had been refilled. We asked if there were any more boiled eggs and we received a sigh and the attendant went back to get some more.'

'The place was clean the staff was nice'

'From the moment we checked in, every employee we encountered was very friendly and willing to help! Our room was clean, and housekeeping kept everything well-stocked. The only area I would suggest for improvement would be to expand the variety of options offered for breakfast. Granted, it was free and I shouldn't complain, but offering some sweet options (pastries, donuts) as well as a few more warm foods would go a long way!'

'The outside look terrible make the hotel look ghetto. Room were nice. Coffee was nasty. No breakfast choices for diabetic people.'

'The elevators were down so had to take luggage up to 4th floor. The stairwells are not air conditioned and the 4th floor smelled like cooked cabbage. Opened the room and it smelled like dirty bedding. The staff was all VERY friendly. No gluten free safe food options.'

'I paid $280 for one night for a room that had holes and stains on the walls, a cracked bathroom counter with a sharp edge at my toddlers’ eye level, no drain in the sink and it was clogged, no drain in the shower, the carpets were grossly stained, all the lamp shades were stained, the mattress protector was also stained. The elevators weren’t working and neither were the vending machines. All in all this place was a dump and definitely not worth the price.'

'King Deluxe smoking room. Bar was closed. Pool closed. Spa closed. A/c didn’t work first night. Called front desk numerous times, no response. No luggage carts available. No vending on upper floors. The open food place ran out of food. Old mattresses, where you could visually see the foot area about 4-6 inches above head area on bed. No microwave. At Rook’s the only place to get alcohol there the line was very long. Finally got to bar tender, older male with glasses, I said seems busy today....

'Did not meet our expectations, for the price expected much more. I would not recommend the Michigan city area for anybody to take a vacation.'
