Guest Access:
We recommend exploring the Poconos by car so you can really take advantage of everything the area has to offer! In the winter, we strongly recommend a 4-wheel or all-wheel drive vehicle for navigating our private, unpaved, gravel road.
It is possible to reach Sycamore Camp by Greyhound bus to nearby Blakeslee then taxi/Uber to the house, if you plan on having a quiet reclusive weekend.
If you're planning a night out in Lake Harmony or one of the nearby breweries or wineries, Lake Harmony Turismo offers affordable private car service.
The Neighborhood:
Sycamore Camp is located down a private gravel road and is completely secluded... yet it's situated only 1/4 mile from Big Boulder Ski Resort, Boulder View Tavern and the world-famous vacation area of Lake Harmony, Pennsylvania. You'll feel as though you're in the middle of nowhere, surrounded on all sides by a grove of rhododendrons & pines, but Sycamore Camp is truly in the heart of the Poconos mountains, ideally situated to enjoy northeastern Pennsylvania's famous local skiing, hiking, rafting, and waterparks!
--SKIING & WATER PARKS--
You’ll be 5 minutes from Big Boulder, less than 10 minutes from Jack Frost, and only 25 minutes from Camelback Mountain. Plus Kalahari Water Park, the largest in the US, is only 20 minutes away! Enjoy a day of adventure and then return to Sycamore Camp, your personal mountain oasis, to dine and relax with your family.
World-renowned Pocono Raceway, aka ‘The Tricky Triangle’ is only 3 miles from Heidi's Lodge. You’re only minutes away from world-class racing excitement! On non-race weekends, speed enthusiasts can get a taste of the action with a thrilling Stock Car Racing Experience and behind-the-scenes track tours, plus UTV tours with Pocono Mountain Adventures are a safe, very muddy thrill for anyone over age 5.
If you’re in search of more entertainment, the Mount Airy Casino and Golf resort is only 15 minutes away. Slots along with table games are plentiful at this energetic casino where, aside from gambling, you can catch concerts and other entertaining shows, plus a spa and executive golf course.
The Poconos is truly a four-season destination and there’s always something new to explore! Other local attractions include:
--Lake Harmony. Tucked into the hills of Carbon County is a vacation destination with infinite appeal. Lake Harmony’s landscape is comprised of clean glacial lakes, gently rolling hills and lush forests just begging to be explored. State parks, ski areas and sports destinations surround the town, promising action and adventure around every turn.
-Jim Thorpe. The historic town, just under 15 minutes away, features the Mauch Chunk Museum and Cultural Center which details coal mining history and the life of the town's namesake, Native American athlete Jim Thorpe. Stroll the quaint Main Street, window shop, enjoy great local restaurants.
--Hiking –
Enjoy the fresh air and abundant trails! The Poconos offers hiking experiences for those with any level of fitness or ability, from a short stroll around a lovely lake (nearby Austin T. Blakeslee Natural Area is minutes away) to a more rugged trail at nearby Hickory Run State Park or Tank Hollow Trail. Or drive less than a half hour and jump onto the 28-miles of Appalachian Trail within the Delaware Water Gap.
We highly recommend spending a day exploring the Bushkill Falls, one of Poconos’ loveliest locations. Open seasonally, this park contains a series of 8 waterfalls connected by wooded hiking trails and bridges.
--Rafting
The Poconos is well-known for its world class whitewater! Enjoy dam-release weekends on the Lehigh River for extra thrills, or choose a calmer rafting experience that's fine for family members ages 4 to 94. Trips with the incredible rafting outfitter, Pocono Whitewater, depart only 5 miles from Sycamore Camp in nearby Albrightsville.
--Shopping
Have a rainy day? No worries! The Crossings Premium Outlets is only 25 minutes away in Tannersville.
These are just a few of the endless highlights and activities that the Pocono Mountains offers! Ask us for suggestions, we're happy to help point you towards other options to help make your vacation time memorable.

Beautiful cabin in the woods
The property was exactly as pictured with no surprises. Very private but still close to restaurants, parks and lakes. We made good use of the hot tub and fire pit, things we don't have at our current home. Cabin was very clean with everything you need for a cozy stay. Would recommend for anyone looking for a fun and relaxing get away.

Broken hot tub
House was clean. The grill could use cleaning. A bathroom mirror is starting to pull away from the wall. Hot tub was broken, which was disappointing. Management tried to get it repaired, but it was Memorial Day weekend and the repair man did not arrive on the day he was supposed to. I was given $100 refund for the hot tub. I believe we would have enjoyed it here, but without the hot tub the holiday price did not make it worth it to me and we did not get to relax the way we had planned.
