Sunset Motel – Lake City, MN
The Sunset Motel has potential, but it’s definitely a work in progress. The room was tiny, with furnishings to match. The retro-style chairs looked cool, but sitting in them felt like an act of faith — I was half afraid they’d give out mid-sit.
Cleanliness was mostly okay, except for a few long black hairs (we’re gray and blond, so definitely not ours). The door, however, has seen better days — more chipped than my Aunt Zelda’s manicure after a week at the casino.
With a little attention to detail and a touch of TLC, this place could shine like its name suggests. For now, it’s more of a twilight than a sunset experience.
