Restored french rural country cottage with heated pool and peaceful grounds

Le Petit Soyc is an idyllic private escape from every day life, ideal for families or parties of up to ten. As the cottage is surrounded by fields and woodland, the large (10m x 5m) fenced, and optionally heated, pool and multiple terraces are very private and capture the sun day long. Inside, the 18th century stone cottage has been sympathetically converted and updated to create five bedrooms (3 double ensuite and 2 twins sharing a bathroom). The open-plan living area has comfortable leather sofas in two seating areas around the original fireplace, and a well equipped 49 sq m kitchen opening on to a large kitchen terrace overlooking the pool. Outside there is plenty of space for children to run around and the pool is fenced for child safety. Some games are provided, as well as DVD player and bluetooth music speaker. There is no Wifi/Internet at the property although your mobile 3G and 4G should enable some internet connectivity.

Located amongst peaceful rolling hills, it is only 60 miles from Toulouse airport, or one days drive from the channel ports of Caen or St Malo. A car is required due to the rural location, however the historic cities of Cahors and Montauban are both within half an hours drive, with many smaller historic towns and bastides closer. For the mildly energetic, apart from the large (10m x 5m) secluded, fenced, illuminated and optionally heated swimming pool, Croquet and Boules sets are provided as well as an outdoor Table Tennis (Ping-Pong) table and a couple of mountain bikes for the local lanes. Golf and Tennis are available nearby. For the less energetic, sunloungers, backgammon, playing cards and the barbecue will suffice, with shaded areas available outside as well as lots of sun terrace.

The holiday home was how it was advertised, except for the internet network. There is no wifi, but claims to have good 3g or 4g reach, but however it doesn't at all. It's almost a dead spot. The below bedroom was the coolest but not nice to stay in. It was ridden with beatles and the bathroom smelled quite mouldy. The house was big, but warm. There is no air conditioning but house could benefit for your stay. We also chose the house because of the garden, but the grass was so tough that you couldn't walk or play on it.

Le Petit Soyc - Perfect

We stayed at Le Petit Soyc in August 2023. This is a fantastic villa. Accommodation is very comfortable. Plenty of room for 8 of us with room to spare. The layout is superb. The kitchen is big, modern and well equipped. The outdoor dining area is really good. The swimming pool, pool house and shade is also spot on. We had a fantastic stay. Temperature was over 40 degrees! Local area is peaceful and beautiful. I would definitely recommend 100%. Property owner is as fantastic as the villa!

Our summer holidays were perfect !

Nous avons passé une excellente semaine chez James, la maison est superbe, spacieuse, et agréable. La piscine nous a bien rafraîchi lors de cette semaine particulièrement chaude. James et son contact local ont été très réactifs dès la moindre question. L’isolement relatif de la maison nous a permis de profiter pleinement de nos soirées en extérieur. Tout petit bémol: il faut faire quelques km pour les visites de villages ou lieux intéressants. En conclusion, nous recommandons !

Le beau séjour

Des vacances au calme dans un gîte spacieux et confortable

Un gîte de caractère équipé d'une belle piscine dans un bel environnement campagnard sans voisinage. Commerces à proximité ( 3kms). Toutefois: pas d'équipement internet, connection 4 G difficile, télévision satellitaire avec chaînes anglaises exclusivement.

Excellent gite pour passer d'agréables moments en famille, ou entre amis.

Nous avons passé un très agréable séjour dans votre grande maison pleine de charme qui nous a permis de rassembler la famille du sud de la France. Vu le temps, la piscine devenait indispensable. Cependant certains détails vus à notre arrivée méritent toutefois votre attention : - Un des transats en plastique PVC blanc avait déjà une roue cassée, - Sur les trois parasols de terrasse, seul un était à peu près utilisable. Les deux autres, en bois, comportaient trop de trous dans la toile, des éléments cassés et même des nids d’insectes, - La grande poêle n’a pu hélas être utilisée car son revêtement se détache comme une peau, - Et pour nous français, il manquait des bols pour notre petit-déjeuner. Nous garderons tous un excellent souvenir de notre séjour. Je n'ai mis que 3 étoiles dans la précision de votre annonce car les prix y sont annoncés en €, mais qu'il faut vous régler en Livres Sterling, ce qui ne semble pas très normale car cette maison est en France et sa gestion obéit à la loi française.

Parfait séjour en famille

Vraiment très bon séjour en famille. La maison est très agréable. Les environs sont paisibles. Parfait pour un séjour reposant (pas de réseau) dans une maison très bien équipée. Nous avons vraiment tous apprécié notre séjour.

Excellent séjour au calme dans un environnement agréable. La famille a beaucoup appréciée la table ronde d'extérieur très conviviale avec son plateau tournant! la piscine est très appréciable et très bien sécurisée. il y a tout le confort à l'intérieur , maison très fonctionnelle. Superbe maison bien équipée au calme

La maison est grande et très bien équipée. L'espace cuisine salon est immense et appreciable. Les différentes terrasses permettent de s'installer à différents moments de la journée en fonction des activités. La piscine est superbe. La maison est située au milieu des chas aucun voisinage. Nous avons apprécié notre séjour et reviendrons avec plaisir.

Great property - nicely decorated, clean, spacious. Tables inside and out both perfect for group dining. Lovely outside space, garden and swimming pool. Beautiful quiet rural area, but just a short drive to shops, so we had everything we needed. Definitely would recommend.

Fantastic Holiday

We visited the Petit Soyc for two weeks in August and all had a fantastic time. We were five adults and three children, and all agreed that this was the best villa that we'd been to. The property is situated on the ridge of a hill and so, whichever way you look, there are views of beautiful rolling countryside; the only neighbours you can occasionally hear are the friendly donkeys from across the valley. The pool area is great - safely fenced in and with room for loungers around it. It is next to a totally covered area, which comes out from the shed. We put the table tennis table up here, but was good for the children (and adults) to sometimes get into the shade. There's lots of space on the grass to the front and the sides of the house for games as well. The property is beautiful inside with a huge kitchen diner, that leads into a comfy seating area by the TV. Outside the kitchen is large terrace, with huge round table, that catches the sun until the end of the day. Within a short drive there are lots of markets, petty towns and vineyards - we picked most of those off in the mornings and then spent the afternoons by the pool. This is a lovely property in a beautiful, quiet rural area. If you want to get away and totally relax, then we would definitely recommend the Petit Soyc.
