A gite to be recommended!
We stayed in le petit Hohnack for 2 weeks (last week of June and first week of July 2022). The pictures and the description of the gite are very accurate. They show a well equiped, very comfortable and light/modern house.
We did not miss anything: the kitchen has everything one needs like at home. There is also a washing machine which is also a dryer and there is a freezer. Everything worked perfectly and was easy in use.
The hygiene was perfect.
The beds were large and comfortable as were the bathrooms.
The owners are very friendly and answer quickly and are very respectful of one's privacy. The dog came to have a look at us, he was very kind and for us a nice 'extra'. Because of the dog, the cat stayed away although he appreciated a cuddle as well.
The house is situated in a new, small development, with only a few (3 of 4) other houses like it, which are not intrusive. The gite is built on a high part in the mountains overseeing the area of Labaroche. The view from the gite is beautiful and with the morning sun sometimes spectacular. If you have binoculars I would recommend to take them along. A few of the treasures of the southern Alsace can be seen from the terrace! The terrace is large and catches the sun till the early evening. If you find the sun too much you can choose the back of the house.
The gite is located perfectly for both hiking (maps available in the gite) and sight seeing in the Alsace but also in the neigbouring countries. We visited Basel (with the car to Saint Louis, free large parking at the station, and with the train to the centre of Basel) and Freiburg im Bresgau (one hour by car).
So all in all: no criticism and and only the recommendation to make use of this modern gite, which offers all the good things of traditional gites and more!
