Summary:

The Saltaire Cottages are a set of quaint, semi-ocean front properties located at milepost 2.5 in Kitty Hawk, NC. This landmark has been welcoming families to the Outer Banks for over 50 years!



We have 1-4 bedroom cottages that each have a kitchen, family room and screened balcony. Our private beach access is directly across the street and a beautiful pool with elevated sun decks is on site. Each unit has heat/air, TV's, stove/oven, microwave, Keurig, toaster, pots/pans, dishes and silverware



The Space:

This 2 bed / 2 bath cozy cottage offers all the amenities of a small house in a beautiful and peaceful environment.



The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable.



This cottage has 3 entrances - one to the main living area / kitchen and 1 to each of the 2 master bedrooms. This allows guests staying in each bedroom access to their room from the outside without having to disturb others in the cottage.



While in the cottage, You can enjoy relaxing in your bedroom, the family room or out on the screened in balcony.



Each of the rooms in the cottage is equipped with a flat screen cable tv.

You can walk or bike to many restaurants and attractions. The beach is directly across the street and you can walk on the beach or walk/bike "The Beach Road" to other restaurants and attractions such as Kitty Hawk Pier.

The cottages are in older buildings - but not much can be done about that. Inside, thoroughly updated. The staff was soo nice and helpful. We were in town for a softball tournament -- but I would love to come back for a week vacation and think this would be the perfect place to stay.

Best Night Ever

The location was better than great! A funky 50’s type hotel that was perfect in every way. It had everything we needed; living space, kitchen, bedrooms, and laundry. We only had one night as we were passing through and my heart desperately wanted to stay 5++. We ate at the place next door, Art’s Place and had the best hamburger in years. Wonderful people, wonderful atmosphere and wonderful location. Don’t missy spending time in either place.!!!

It seems like this place is very well maintained. Our unit was very clean upon arrival. It seems like they keep the units up to date as ours looked freshly painted and free from signs of wear and tear on furniture or fixtures. The staff was very accommodating and polite. The pool was well maintained and this place was directly across the street from the Saltair’s private walking path to the beach. Thanks for a perfect stay!

Great! Well managed!

We had a great stay. The property staff/manager was very easy to communicate with. Cleaning crew, staff and/or building super were around tending to the property - felt well managed and tidy. Kitchen had nice pots/pans and dishes to use and a Keurig for coffee. Ample towels and clean linens. The kitchen area is a little bit on the smaller side- so quick prep meals are easier if you plan to eat in a lot. There's a clothesline for wet bathing suits and towels. Other reviewers have noted the floorplan set up - it worked out well for us, but you should note the set up when booking. I liked that each room had a door to the exterior for unloading and loading the car. Beach access is immediately across the street - very easy to use (yet discreet, so not overcrowded). There's an outdoor shower as well as a place to rinse sandy feet. The kids liked the pool. We enjoyed the ice cream shop and had a nice dinner at Ocean Blvd (they take call in reservations) - both walkable from the cottages. Art's Place is also walkable but we didn't manage to get over there for a meal.

Place was perfect for a one night stay. It did have a dirty towel smell to it and bedrooms were linked together. If in far bedroom you had to go outside and walk around to kitchen in order to not disturb guests in other room.

Good location

Great location just steps from the beach. It was also close to several eating places you could walk to. I would advise a upper level room. We were on lower and very noisy! In description it doesn’t show or say you have to walk from one bedroom through the other to get to living area. That may not work for all. Over all we had a good stay and it had what you need at the beach.
