The ultimate in classic Outer Banks vacations awaits you at your 1-bedroom oceanfront condominium in Duck.

Convenient to shopping, dining, attractions and activities, this location in Duck is ideal. You may never want to leave the golden sands of the Outer Banks beach, but if you must, everything you could desire is just a few moments away.

Bring your coffee out to your oceanfront balcony in the morning and gaze at the waves crashing in. To access the beautiful beach, all you must do is cross over the community dune deck and paradise awaits you. This condominium also offers community grills and a coin-operated laundry facility.

Charlie's Casa at Colony by the Sea provides a vintage and comfortable atmosphere for your vacation. This 1 bedroom, 2 bath condo unit is a great choice for friends who are traveling together, a small family, or a couple. A King bedroom and a twin over twin alcove bunk set in the hallway provides sleeping accommodations for 4.

This soothing condo unit offers all of your core vacation needs. The stocked kitchen has everything you need to prepare snacks and meals. The dining table can seat up to 4 with additional seating at the breakfast bar. The living room has plenty of seating for the whole group with access to the balcony to watch the waves roll in.

The Colony by the Sea condominiums provide a true Outer Banks experience for all vacationers!

This property has 2 parking spots for guests.

**Private outdoor community pools and/or waterpark play areas are available, weather permitting, beginning on Memorial Day and close after Labor Day. Please know that pool operating dates are subject to change at any point, for any reason.**

This was such a charming condo! It was clean, perfectly sized for our visit, and we loved the back deck where we could see and hear the ocean. It was a quick, easy walk to the beach. We would definitely come back!

Great stay!

We enjoyed our time in Duck! The property was perfectly located in Duck, making it easy to walk or drive to many things. We enjoyed the proximity to the beach and the beautiful view. The kids also enjoyed the pool and we utilized many of the community amenities.

Great View on a Quiet Neighborhood

This is a nicely maintained condo in a quiet neighborhood with quick access to the beach and a nice pool. We had a great time sitting on the balcony listening to the waves and we actually saw deer one night grazing in the shrubbery outside the pool area. The kitchen was very well appointed and I had no trouble cooking and preparing meals. The only complaints I have are as follows: The Internet was not great. I was consistently having to reconnect on my phone and was never able to connect to streaming on the tvs. The TV in the bedroom wasn't able to complete its setup and so I couldn't use it, which was kind of a nuisance because I like having the background noise on at night. Luckily, my friend brought his laptop and we were able to connect it to the TV in order to watch streaming services. There were a few lights that were not working; the bathroom had 2 of the 3 bulbs out and one of the overhead lights was burnt out as well. Also, there was a dishwasher full of dirty dishes and trash on the balcony when we arrived. Overall, that did not deter us from having a great time and I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Beach Location!

What a treat! This condo has such amazing and easy access to the beach with incredible views as well. This was our 4 year old’s first trip to the beach, and this couldn’t have been any easier for her. The condo was spacious for a family of 3 and had every amenity we could have needed. Absolutely would stay here again!

Relaxing stay with a couple of hickups

Great view of ocean from deck and unit. We had a bug issue with ants in kitchen and a bug in our bed that startled my wife and made her uncomfortable. Called Kees and they had the home treated by pest control company the next day. We thought the unit could have been cleaner. It was just ok from a cleanliness standpoint. Overall our stay was a 6 on scale of 1-10 due to the issues mentioned above.

Comfortable Stay in Duck

Enjoyed a relaxing 4-night stay in Duck at the end of July. Property was very clean and well maintained. That's where the positives ended. Never received the passcode for entry as promised 24 hours before check-in, and had to call Kees on the drive down that morning. Wifi was spotty and constantly disconnecting. We had to constantly reconnect, which was irritating for my husband who was trying to work remote while here. Sent several inquiries for the Property Manager via the VRBO feature and never got any responses to my questions prior to arrival. Soap dispenser in the master bath needs to be better secured as it kept falling off the wall. Walls are extremely thin. We were regularly awoken by heavy walking above us early in the morning and late at night. That said, the location is very convenient to everything in Duck. Kids really enjoyed the pool. There are tons of jellyfish in the area now, you can't really go in the ocean due to sea lice. Overall, we prefer the smaller crowds in Corolla and will likely be going back there on our next OBX visit. If you're used to the comforts of a hotel then I recommend you keep looking, this was a very old building and a bit below our standards.

Great Family Friendly Beach Vacation Spot

Was most impressed with the cleanliness of the unit. The balcony however needed a good sweeping from previous guests. Views and location were great. Beds were comfortable and liked all the finishing and decor. I did not receive an email with the check in information/code so had to call the office to have it sent. Great stay overall and would go back.

A Great Getaway

The place was clean and well stocked with dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and appliances. It was very easy to get on and off the beach and was a quick drive to the Duck shops and restaurants. The complex was family friendly and quiet. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice property...check-in was more difficult than necessary

We found the property to be as described in the listing and we were very happy with the place relative to the price. Everything was clean and tidy. Kitchen was well equipped other than Kees info stated there was a Kuerig....there is not...there's a normal drip coffee maker. The big complaint was the check-in process. After confirming a VRBO booking with Kees, you'll receive an email outlining the check-in process. According to Kees, they send you an email with your key access code 24 hours ahead of check-in. We didn't receive that email so I called the number listed around 6 pm the day before check-in and got an answering service that told me to call back the day of check-in for the code. So, being a trusting person I waited until the next day to call....I was on hold for over an hour driving to the property. Once I was finally connected to a human, I was told that they sent an email at 11 pm the night before--they did not. And no, it was not in my junk mail folder. While on the phone with Kees, they did send the email with the pertinent info, so we were able to open the door. However, it was well after the 4pm check-in time. Beware if you are booking and make sure you receive the check-in email and be advised to call during business hours!

Great location and condo, but....

The a/c did not work and wasn't working even upon check-in. The property management company did provide a portal unit the next day, but it meant sealing off access to the deck for our stay because they had to order a part and the cooled air did not reach the back bedroom. I'm not sure why no one figured out the a/c was not working before we checked in? There should be mandatory system checks on appliances, HVAC, etc. They did give us a percentage back on the rental price so that helped. The unit is nice and really close to the beach. I personally would not rent there again, but if all systems worked, it is a nice place. Just a FYI..the bunks shown are really are for maybe pre-teens and younger. No adults could rest comfortable on those mattress and the space is really tight. Good thing the sofa was a sleeper.
