The property is beautiful, however the guest room that we stayed in was quite dated. We stayed in the stables. To get to the main building where the dining area and bar are we had to walk around the property. We don’t take issue with the walk, what we did not appreciate is that a lot walkway to the main building is a fine fine crushed stone, which might as well have been mud. It was suggested that the dining was a bit more formal, suggesting men where jackets, in order to make it over to the building we had to put on our casual shoes as not to ruin my heels and my husbands dress shoes. What we didn’t understand is that some of the walkways are brick, what would they not make all of them brick if guests have to dress up?
If you book a stable room and the weather is wet, prepare to get dirty!
