A License to Chill in the Truman Annex, Key West

The historic Foundry, known as building #11, features three story townhomes, located in the award-winning residential neighborhood known as the Truman Annex.
Handsome oversized French doors open into the great room with an 11' ceiling and richly, appointed interiors. The open style kitchen enjoys the surrounds of the dining and living rooms combined. The second primary bedroom has a King bed, a quiet private deck, and an ensuite bathroom.
The third floor guest bedroom has two extra long twins that can be converted to a king with an ensuite bathroom. A lovely deck off the first floor entrance allows for some early morning or evening social time; great for coffee early in the day or grilling after a successful day at sea!
The fisherman of this house caught the biggest fish yet of the century and placed it on his living room wall. There is a refreshing community pool close by and a private parking space conveniently located in front of unit. High speed cable Internet.

Foundry Location

Our stay was great. There was a plumbing/leak problem that was handled amazingly. The faculty/office staff answered the phone each time we called about the leak and the maintenance staff were great. Even the contractor was amazing. The grounds were safe and located within walking distance of the tourist/highlight sections of Key West. The only complaint is locating the management office after hours. When the email says don't follow the GPS for the office don't use it. Other than the main and rear drive through gates the rest of the gates are closed except for residence with gate remotes. It is a great facility and if staying again we will stay at the Truman Annex through Compass Reality.

Unit needs a Major Overhaul

This unit's description is misleading. Newly renovated kitchen? putting in a new fridge does not qualify as a renovation. The kitchen was dirty, dishes mismatched-- it looks like a frat house! Zero beach towels, and only two rusty beach chairs. I went out and bought two additional chairs and left them. The linens were stretched out and old. Blinds on the door were broken, tile was cracked and could cut someone. Couch was stained and dirty. This unit needs a major overahaul. The one positive thing was the location. The Truman Annex is a special place. We were sad that our unit was in such bad shape as other units appeared to be well cared for. I will never rent this unit again and was upset about the amount we paid for this!

The property itself is great. It's a really central location for walking to almost anything in Key West. We had no problems during our stay. Cleanliness is just average and the property could use a deep cleaning. Check-in process was not very clear for late arrival, so hope that is improved in the future.

Location location location

Perfect spot if you are interested in parking the car and walking everywhere. The condo’s furnishings are a little “tired” but not enough to make it a problem. Note. TV stations very limited and all non-HD stuff. Washer was’t working while we were here but we were reimbursed for trip to laundry.

We were in this condo over the New Years. The location is ideal to walk anywhere, safe, secure, quiet, and well furnished. We had a great stay. The swimming pool although a block away is small, warm and a fun place to just relax. We would recommend this condo strongly!
