'Beautiful setting. I was a bit confused about advertised lake who is actually not on the property and holds little for guests. Pool area was wonderful very quiet with trees and birds. Heinz was most helpful in sugges outings and arranging driver. A few niggles: Breakfasts like all in Sri Lanka could use some tweaking with toast presented first to go cold and items not offered but available such as tomatoes or bacon: readily provided when requested. Spider life is rampant so staff could pay more...

'Everything went wrong from that very start. I had no reservation booked in my name. I was offered a room, i was the only one there and felt uncomfortable. I went to check in the next day, but was told they were booked out. Then I was told that another booking was made at another hotel. And when I arrived the new hotel was not aware. Hotels.com was not very helpful. Still awaiting payment to be made I wa'

'Aara Wild near Sigiriya was the highlight of our whole Sri Lanka trip. From arrival, the warmth of the welcome set the tone – every member of staff, from housekeeping to guides to the kitchen team, was genuinely, unfailingly lovely. It’s rare to feel so looked after and so at ease at once. The activities were fantastic and varied: a sunset walk with incredible views, a relaxed afternoon tea, a chef’s dinner served poolside under the stars, and a hands-on cooking class. Each felt personal rather...

'The room sizes and layout were different for same cost. We had two rooms one was much bigger, spacious and nicer compared to the other even though we paid similar price. Our room door lock didnt work. It took them more than an hour to fix it and it was very hard to open and close the dooreverytime. There was no room keeping no fresh towels were provided.'

'Wonderful hotel with spacious rooms and bathrooms, ours also had a balcony. The staff are very friendly, polite and helpful. The food is delicious and freshly prepared, there are Sri Lankan and Western options, all very tasty. The pool is delightful, the views from the cafe are great.'
