Better than the pictures!
We got to Tavalora via a private water taxi right to the sandy ground estates dock, In the end it was definitely the best way to arrive considering our overall travel. Michael connected us with everyone: a local boat hire who helped us mitigate our arrival, our car rental, our groceries and of course his manager who picked us up from the dock and got us to the house after a long day of travel. When we arrived it was breathtaking, the pictures do not do this place justice. You literally have 300 degree views off the east end of the island. The house itself is set up a little tricky, but worked perfect for our family. Our kids were old enough to bunk up in their own room/house while we stayed in the main area. They are separated by the deck outside. Each space has its own lovely bathroom and shower. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a grill outside, we ended up cooking several meals here because it was just so nice to be at this space. I think we accomplished enjoying every outdoor space, but WOW that was the absolute best. There were several dining tables and lovely chairs for coffee or happy hour, including a terrace steps above the ocean. The entire east end is a bunch of up and down STEEP hills, so able bodies are a must. The car is parked up a set up stairs, the beach is at the bottom of several flights, but in the end the terracing makes this a very special place. Make sure to rent a dinghy so you can make it to the islands offshore!
