First, i want to say that the unut is absolutely adorable and the hist seemed very kind and responsive. I cant give this stay 5 stars for two reasons: 1) it seems as though the black tank has not been maintained properly and the smell was terrible the entire time we stayed.2) the main toilet kept popping the outlet into which it was plugged and had to be reset every time it was flushed. Sometimes I had to reset it several times before it would flush all the way. I understand why these issues couldn't be fixed while I was there, however, the host's response was somewhat flippant and was basically, "try flipping the breaker" This was extremely frustrating and took away a lot from my enjoyment of my stay.

I stayed at the property with my husband, one dog and one cat. Although I was pleased to be able to bring my pets, the pet fee was quite high compared to other properties. Be aware it is very difficult to have your pets accompany you to the upstairs bedroom. They must be carried up the circular staircase. We had a 45 pound dog and that was not a possibility. We also had one litter box and did not want to carry it upstairs. So basically you have to lock your animals in the lower part of the unit while you sleep upstairs. The bedroom upstairs is very lovely – quite possibly the best part of the home. The view is amazing and the room is quite cozy. There was local streaming TV on the upstairs television, but not on the downstairs. We were able to receive a guest code to add apps to the downstairs television. There are two thermostats for the downstairs AC. This is quite confusing and neither one of the units were very responsive to touch. There is no instructions as to which unit you are supposed to use to control the air conditioning. There is no central heat, which was an issue for us as we stayed in November and it got quite cold. The only heat in the unit is from the portable heater. The shower will only stay hot for about 3-4 minutes. The multiple showerheads in the shower are very low pressure and quite unusable. This was a disappointment for us as the pictures of the shower looked so nice. The view was very lovely and the best part of our stay.

Wonderfull stay! With large windows on both levels, we could enjoy the lake scenery at all times during the day and night. The home was very quiet and so stable in the water that there was little floating sensation.Excellent communication with the host, who not only answered questions promptly, but offered suggestions to improve our stay.

4th of July

We had a wonderful time. Enjoyed watching the boats and fireworks. Everything we needed was there. Two cautions though, we are 76 years old and the bedroom is upstairs via a spiral staircase and the boat does rock when there is active on the water but that being said the stay was very enjoyable.

NOT HANDICAP FRIENDLY

PROS…..Houseboat was cute, well furnished, kitchen was outfitted w/what you would need. Beautiful view, quite peaceful. Perfect for young couple…CONS…..NOT for anyone with any physical handicaps and I wouldn’t recommend for families with children. Bedroom upstairs and can ONLY access through the outside spiral staircase. There is no fishing from the pier or the boat, entrance to the boat is by ramp w/a 45 degree angle during our stay. The sofa is very uncomfortable for sleeping. Barbecue pit upstairs so food, dishes, everything must be brought up on spiral staircase. We stayed one nite and had to leave.

A home that floats

Whenever we travel, we always look for unique options and our stay at this houseboat did not disappoint. The boat offers fantastic views of Doctor's lake from the living area as well as the bedroom. The houseboat's amenities lacked nothing for our stay, we are very appreciative of the fact that the Houseboat was pet friendly.We hope to stay there again.

Christmas Literally On The Water!

Tony & I and CoCo Chanel enjoyed looking out over the lake.....and the birds! Location was nice and easy to get to Great restaurants and shops and stores. Went to St. Augustine and enjoyed all day there! Went to Jacksonville Beach and had lunch! Nice realxing Christmas celebration for just the three of us! I want to go back in the Summer and rent a jet ski!

Houseboat Stay

We have never been on a houseboat before and was really looking forward to our 3 night stay. The houseboat is really nice with all amenities. The lay out is a bit funky. Bedroom is upstairs with an outside entrance. Couch downstairs is second bed, didn’t sleep on it so don’t know how comfy that would be. We lost all water, through no fault of the owners and only got to stay one night. Owners graciously refunded 2 nights money. I would book again, very close to family.

Double check your reservation!

I booked this property June 1 of 2023. My wife and I called the day we were supposed to check in (Friday April 19) we hadn’t received any arrival instructions. VRBO was confirmed with reservation ID and Property ID. 4 hrs on the phone with VRBO and the property management company. And long story short the property management company didn’t have our reservation and double booked over us. VRBO and the proper management company left us high and dry. Definitely don’t recommend. Instead stay at the house boat next door. Far better set up and owner Kim couldn’t have been nicer and more accommodating.

Lovely Romantic Getaway

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary & had a great time. The boat is amazingly spacious, and the views (particularly the gorgeous sunsets) are lovely. Having the tiki bar nearby was a nice plus. We look forward to coming back!

A taste of paradise

This was such a cool experience. Being right on the water with magnificent sunsets was priceless. We didn’t realize the bedroom had to be accessed from the outside, but it was worth it. Would highly recommend and we are looking forward to future stays. The boat does bob in the water sometimes, so if you’re affected by sea sickness, bring some Dramamine. It was awesome, and they accepted our well behaved fur babies.

Nice Get Away on the water!

Loved the views and the decor! Even with the rain we felt cozy and comfortable. *Might suggest adding a full length mirror. The games were nice, as we actually played battleship for the first time in years! Loved the recliner and the choice of coffees & teas.

Luxury on Water
