It is an old hotel that is in need of updating. However, the rooms were nice enough. The beds were comfortable. I was surprised that the window actually opened on the second floor. That could be a safety hazard. You don’t usually see that in a hotel. The first room that I was given, had a broken door. After a heavy rain my last night there, there was some water outside My room and in my room in the closet area. Luckily none of my things were damaged. The keys to the rooms demagnetized at least once a day. There Is plenty of parking. It is in a good location near stores, gas station, and not far from Cornell University. The breakfast was very good. The staff was very nice and friendly, However, I Asked them numerous times to have a key available for my friends that were all arriving later than me. I even wrote the names on a piece of paper with the keys inside, yet when my friends arrived at different times, no one seem to know that there were keys set aside for them. I do want to give a shout out to the evening manager, who was very helpful and Professional. It was also very nice that they provided gift bags and stuffed bears for customers for the Cornell graduation weekend. They also provided a lovely area with strawberries, chocolate, and champagne in the hotel lobby. That was a very nice touch!

Entire facility needs major updating. upon entering to check in, it was noticeable that cleansiness was a serious issue. Staff is very nice but the place needs an overhaul.

The bed was comfortable and clean along with the pillows, sheets, comforter and the tv was updated. The rest of the room was dated and older. The bathrooms and hallways definitely need an overhaul but it was a restful night and the room was clean. A bit pricey for condition.

staff friendly and helpful. room nice. property upkeep seems to be lacking, and locks on external doors are missing - it seemed anyone could enter the hotel and room corridors at anytime - not ideal.

Thank you for your feedback. I am not sure what severe water damage you are referring to. We had a couple of roof leaks appear after the winter weather and we are working to fix them. It is nothing that should impact a guests stay.

This hotel could use a lot TLC. Anyone could walk in the doors on outside of building were not locked. No smoking inside and smelt pot in hallway. After swimming in pool, wanted to take shower no cold water. I guess you get what you pay for.

Great Value in this dated hotel
I was looking for a cheap alternative to the downtown Ithaca hotels so I went with Cayuga Blu. Hotel was dated as expected. We caught it on a slow night so maybe 8 to 10 cars total in the lot. Front desk was friendly. Room was clean. TV worked. Complimentary coffee was good 😎. (We skipped the free breakfast but it looked decent). Walking distance to YMCA, strip mall stores and a few restaurants. My only complaint is that the exterior doors around the hotel are unlocked 24/7... you did not need a room key to walk in any of the doors at any time. Not a good feeling. Other than that it's a great value hotel location and I would stay again.

Clocks didnt work. Heater was noisy and would trip off. Security not good in building. All doors around building unlocked at all times. No visible cameras. Anyone could enter the building. Also, the fire door was propped open.

Overall, it was a decent stay for the price. I will say that cleanliness could be improved, especially in the bathroom as it is more noticeable. The reclining chair in the room was stained, making me uncomfortable, and I did not want to sit in it. But, the Kind Size bed made the trip, it was super comfortable and spacious. The workers were pleasant and it was quiet, so I got to relax.

The room was clean. Beds were pretty comfortable. Staff was great. But everything other than the lobby was quite dated. Just rusted and worn out. The weight room wasn't useful. Broken and unmaintained equipment. If you just need a place to sleep then it's fine. Too pricey for anything else though.
