This was a huge disappointment for us and we never ended up checking in. Currently disputing the credit card charge to get our money back from VRBO.
We never received proper/standard VRBO/Host check in details prior to checking in. Since we were checking in after the sun went down (as we spent the day at Zion National Park) proper check in details needed to be offered to us and were not. For example, wagon number with proper map or written instructions to onsite location, lock box/key access availability if any, etc. was not offered until the next day after check in.
We messaged the host the night of check in to get more standard check in information and we received no response. We called VRBO twice and got the run around with two international customer service people. One person claiming they were the host when they clearly had no details to give and were in another country. We spent hours on the phone messaging and calling VRBO/Host. What a waste of a night of our vacation.
Also, the VRBO search ad for âZIONâ rentals showed the wagon first in location to the park. Well, once you do receive the address it is an hour away from the ZION park. Totally false advertising and such a disappointment.
When you are an out of state customer searching for local housing in a specific location where you have never visited, an hour drive in the mountains away from your requested destination is a long way to drive to and from. Especially when you are requesting housing in the âZionâ park area.
When we finally did receive check in details the next day after our check in date the details mentioned the google map directions can steer you wrong. Well, driving at night in a new mountain location with wrong google map info would have been a nightmare. Glad we didnât do it.
We had to pay three times the amount of the wagon for a hotel room the night of our wagon stay and we were so disappointed all the way around.
We still havenât heard any follow up or apology from the host or VRBO.
