From the moment I drove in, the hotel made a great impression. The driveway is elegant, complete with a live water fountain that gives a touch of class. The building has an old, stately feel, so I was pleasantly surprised by the modern automatic doors â a brilliant contrast that sets the tone.
Check-in was quick and easy. The receptionist didnât say much, but was efficient and got the job done with no fuss.
The room? Honestly, one of the best Iâve stayed in for a long time. Spacious, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. The pillows were a great touch, offering a choice between soft-ish and firm, small details that make a difference. The coffee machine with pods was a big win, too. Suggest having face cloths available in the room.
The only downside was the temperature â the room was very warm despite no heating being on. I had to keep the window open the whole time, even overnight, which wasnât ideal.
Breakfast was a bit of a letdown compared to the rest of the experience. It was standard hotel fare. The scrambled eggs were thin and bland, and the only yoghurt option was 0% fat-free, not the best. That said, I really enjoyed the crusty, self-serve bread â a nice rustic touch.
Would I return? Yes, definitely â though Iâd think twice about having breakfast there again.
