About Stuck in the Sand

This laid-back beachfront home offers the retro feel Fort Morgan vacations are known for. Imagine fishing, sunbathing, and making incredible vacation memories right out the back door! Stuck in the sand offers a unique bonus of a screened porch, perfect for rocking in the rocking chairs on a clear evening! The deck also offers an uncovered area for sunbathing and a gate to help keep little ones safely inside. 

Inside, guests can enjoy the same unobstructed gulf views from the open living and dining areas. Plenty of comfortable seating makes this the perfect spot to relax after a day at the beach. The kitchen is equipped for preparing the catch of the day with cookware, dishes, and small appliances provided. 

Up to 8 guests are comfortably accommodated at Stuck in the Sand. The Gulf-facing master bedroom features a queen-sized bed, TV, and access to the deck via the sliding glass doors. The master bedroom also features an en-suite bathroom with a tub/shower combo. Bedroom 2 also features gulf views, a queen bed, a TV, and access to the deck. Bedroom 3 sleeps 4 guests in 2 queen-sized beds and has its own TV and an en-suite bathroom.

Fort Morgan

Fort Morgan is a quiet beach community away from the crowds and congestion. On the peninsula, guests will find the following restaurants: Tacky Jacks 2, Sassy Bass, The Coast Restaurant, The Village Hideaway, and The Kiva Grill. Guests can play golf at the Peninsula or at Kiva Dunes. There is an accessible boat launch and marina at the Gulf Shores Marina at Fort Morgan. Last but not least, there is a historical Civil War Site to explore at the Fort Morgan Historic Site. There is something for everyone in Fort Morgan!
 
Rental Age Policy
We love people of all ages, and we want everyone to enjoy our homes.  However, we do require that an adult 25 years or older reserve the home and be present at the home during your entire stay. We do not rent to anyone under the age of 25.  We have no exception to this policy.

Nice house, amazing views.

The photos are exactly what it looks like! The listing for "Stuck in the Sand" described it very well, and the process for renting it went smoothly. We were a group of four friends, two had never seen the ocean, one had been to Gulf Shores and Fort Morgan many times, and one had been to multiple other beaches. We all said the same thing, the house was clean and cozy yet spaced out enough that we were not on top of each other. With the doors and windows open, there was a fantastic cross breeze. The furniture was comfortable and clean. The bedrooms were spacious. The deck was nice, although the steps seemed a little steep for us, 3 women in their 50's and one in her 40's. It didn't stop us from going down to the beach multiple times a day. The beach is definitely close with this house, once you are off the deck, the water is about 30 seconds away. Cons and things we would have changed: there were 4 rocking chairs on the screened in porch, which was very nice, but there were only two adirondack chairs on the deck. It would have been nice if 2 more had been available. Not a huge issue, but something we noticed. There was an issue with the dryer not working and we packed wet clothes for the trip home. We contacted the number they provided and maintenence was at the house within an hour. He did get the dryer going, it was simply a breaker issue, but we turned it off since were leaving for dinner, when we returned, it wouldn't start again. I fully believe that maintenence would have came back to the house, had we called but it was our last night there and we decided not to mess with calling them again. Our only other "complaint" is the provided one roll of toilet paper per bathroom. We found more humor in the situation than an actual complaint, but that's quite possibly the worst toilet paper any of us had ever seen. Luckily we had each brought our own roll from home, so we just laughed about it and went on with our stay. All 4 of us were incredibly happy with the house, it's location, and the communication with management.

Beautiful house and beach area

The only issue we had was unlocking the front door with the entry code sent to us, but when I called the office, they answered quickly and gave a second door code to use which worked fine! The house is roomy and very close to the beach! just a warning for others, though, there is no grill on site. We had to bring our own to use outdoor grilling.

Spring Break Vacation

The property was as pictured and as described. Appreciated the communication checking in on us as a decent storm rolled through. The covered porch provided an awesome opportunity to watch that ocean storm. We all had a great time and would definitely stay again. It was nice to be away from the hustle and bustle of town but yet within a short drive to go into town if we wanted to. Would highly recommend staying here!

Great Spot

Overall a great house for a beach getaway weekend. It is right on the beach with prime views and easy to get up and down throughout the day with kids. No hauling coolers, etc. The house is very clean and has most of the basics. It would be nice to have a few more supplies provided like extra trash bags and coffee filters but based on other reviews we anticipated that and brought extras. Would definitely stay there again!

Directly on the Gulf with lots of Privacy

We had a great SB! The house was beautifully kept and decorated. We enjoyed the beach straight out our door with zero walking. Open your door and you're on the beach!! Enjoyed even a rain storm out on the screened porch! We'll definitely return and from pictures we posted others are wanting more info because of this close and private home. Stuck In The Sand was more than great!! 5 stars!

Great Location for Relaxing

This property was very comfortable, easy to access and was right on the beach. I enjoyed being out of the hustle and bustle of the main drag. We came to relax and that we did. Everything was as I expected it to be. The only recommendation would be to have a newer tv in the living room as it was slightly on the small side and the colors seemed to be a little washed out. I would have also liked to be able to log into Netflix and Prime.

Awesome location and great house

Beautiful house and awesome location. The one and only thing I would change would be the mattresses. The two rooms with queen beds had really firm mattresses. But everything else was perfect. We would love to rent again.

Great House, Amazing Location!

This was the vacation that almost didn’t happen due to COVID, but we decided to reschedule instead of cancelling, and it was worth the wait! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The secluded area and proximity to the beach was simply amazing. Would love to see some updates (ESPECIALLY the kitchen stove), but no real complaints! Looking forward to staying again.

Stuck in the Sand

We had a lovely time at Stuck in the Sand. The house is a great place to enjoy Fort Morgan. We have stayed in Fort Morgan 5 times previously, and this house was my favorite. First let me say that when I rented it, I had no clue that it was located at public beach access. I was prepared for a less busy area. Actually, it played into our favor. After being isolated since March, it was nice to see some activity around. We just made sure our umbrella was up, and chairs out in front of the house to keep other from coming close. Someone asked me about the condition of the house itself. I responded by saying that we weren’t paying for the house, but the view. You feel as though you are on a ship when you are inside the house because you don’t see any sand. All you see is water. I would like to talk about the cleanliness of the house. On first look it seems fine. I ran around wiping and spraying disinfectant. The property rental said they have a Covid team go in, but I wasn’t taking any chances. I wish that the owner had two sets of bed coverings and rugs that could be washed between guests. The linens and towels were clean, but I would suggest that the rugs, blankets and bedspreads be switched out. When I lifted blinds, the windowsills were dirty, and the windows has algae on them. The kitchen has plenty of eating and drinking utensils, but is lacking in cooking tools. No cookie sheet. Grateful I brought my own cooking things to supplement, or we would have had a problem. Good sharp knives in the kitchen, which was a surprise. There is a place in the hallway where the vinyl flooring does not meet,which made me chuckle. The living room area was perfect for our group. Overall, We really enjoyed our visit. I have already given the information about it to two friends. I would recommend this rental to any who asked. Maybe it will be us again in the future!
