great view of beach, close to a few restaurants walking distance, small unit but it was clean just very very dated, really needs some updating. and nobody was available at check out building was lockedup/closed i had to call and drive to a different location that was very inconvenient since the road was closed for an upcoming festival and not familiar with area, not sure why you cant just have a night drop for keys.

Great location, but…..

I’ll start with the positives. We’ve stayed at Island Winds for 10+ yrs, great location and walking distance to restaurants and shops. The one bedroom is the perfect size and cost for 2. The staff has always been friendly, helpful, and easy to work with. Now, the negatives. Cleanliness was a big issue with this unit. We noticed the refrigerator handle was sticky, but thankfully the inside was spotless so we bought cleaner and a scrub brush. When I sprayed the cleaner, immediately brown, dirty ick started running down the door. It made me mad that I was having to do this on my vacation! I wiped the cleaner off the floor where it had pooled. It had turned into goo with all the dirt and grime on the floor. It was gross. We decided to wear socks instead of going barefoot because our feet were filthy by the time we unpacked and put everything away. However, my socks are now stained and won’t come clean even after treating them with stain remover. The bathroom fixtures need to be replaced, the tub ones are falling off. Need shelves in the bath. Only one tiny frying pan in the kitchen. Kitchen shelf paper looks like it’s from the 50s. Some occupants refuse to follow the no smoking rule, so balcony use was limited. And I’ll have to stop there because I’m running out of my allotted space for the review. We will return to IW but not to this unit until it receives a deep cleaning and some updates are made.

We left a day earlier than our check out date. Ceiling fans had visible thick layers of dust. One was basically broken it was so loud. Floors were disgusting, seemed like they haven’t been mopped in years, left the bottoms of our feet black within 30 minutes of getting out the shower. The shower had grime around all the faucets. Some of the towels had cigarette burn marks on them. We booked the room for 4 nights and had one roll of toilet paper in the room. The bed sheets feel like construction paper. There’s a bar across the street that has awful live music every night and they blare it through the speakers, that usually didn’t stop until about 10:30-11:00PM. Sure it is conveniently located and that is about the only redeeming quality. Do not recommend and would definitely not ever stay here again.

Very nice property. Really enjoyed your employees on the property. Always greeted us every morning with a smile. On the beach the lifeguard Austin was very helpful and always greeted us with smiles everyday!!! Thanks for your wonderful staff for a awesome stay!!!

Pee on the floor in bathroom

Pee on the floor sand in the bed had to leave a day early bc the a/c quit working and we have a 1 year old baby. That’s just the tip of the ice berg we have contacted brett Robinson to be compensated some way and they told us we would be called back, never have gotten a call back. Tech came out turned the heat on to make repairs we decided to go home.

Too close to elevator and property was very dated

Location from the beach view was great but the property was very dated and since it was so close to the elevator there was way too much noise all hours of the night. There was no enforcement of late hours noise control. I appreciate the chance to visit Gulf Shores and may consider staying at this location again, but wouldn’t stay at this particular condo again.

It was subpar, mediocre if u will.

First the women who work in the office were amazing! Very kind. The view from our balcony was great. Location very nice. The pictures Of the condo were nice in comparison to actually staying there. There were many small inconveniences for example: some of the outlets did not work properly, sink dripped did not drain immediately, a/c unit sounded like we were blasting off to space, the pull out couch was a true disappointment. It was so broken in that there was an indention in the middle of the mattress. We ended up using the couch which was much better. Luckily there was only person who needed to sleep on it or that would have been problematic. The door knob is very tricky the lock was a little wonky. Description and pictures of condo just don’t match. Will most likely not being staying here again. But it is not AWFUL.

Quick Beach Getaway

Property Location was good but bathroom is really small, commode is tiny. Property was not ready at 5:00 pm check in time. Mattress is hard as a rock and very noisy at night and around 4:00 am when garbage trucks are picking up. For the price I would look further.

Nice place! Great view

We've been enjoying Island Winds West for years! We usually stay next door at Southern Sands because we like the small place with big views and no crowd. This area is fabulous for kids and families. The fire alarm went off while we were here so it was good that we were on the fifth floor!! This place has great views too! So glad we got to enjoy your place! Thanks.
