« Nous avons demandé un thé vers 11:00 pour y accueillir un ami, réponse: “there is no service now”. Puis nous avons demandé pour un entretien avec notre visiteur, au calme car il y avait un match de foot dans le grand salon et beaucoup de bruit, sollicitant de nous mettre dans un salon annexe, réponse: “no that’s not possible”. Déplorable…. Nous n’y retournerons pas »

« Très bel endroit, typique de la campagne écossaise, pour les voyageurs cherchant le calme et la tranquillité. Pour l’animation et les sites à visiter, tout est à 30 minutes en voiture( centre Edimbourg, Roslyn chapel. Distillerie Glenkinchie….) il faut aller voir Gullane beach avec sa réserve naturelle, les villas victoriennes le long de la plage, le golf de part et d’autre de la route et de la réserve … Petit déjeuner écossais copieux, il faut tester leur haggis … »

« A 200 year old pub and inn - interesting ! Unfortunately our room was fairly horrible, we definitely got the hotels.com room : 200 year old mattress, wall view, kitchen vents under the window and lots of noise when we (or the neighbours) ran any water. Food in the evening was good and breakfast ok (very dingy dining room). Everything needs an overhaul. The staff were great though ! »

« Ideally situated close to the centre of Berwick Upon Tweed. Excellent value for money. Compact room with small double bed, comfortable enough but a bit creaky. TV, Kettle and fridge in room aswell as a hairdryer. A few minor issues that could be improved upon are; TV is ok if you are connecting somwthing to it but the signal for the digital channels is terrible. There is no mirror next to plug sockets for styling hair etc. There are only 3 parking spaces and when we were there the first night,...

« The Gables is everyone's home away from home! It's the most beautifully appointed home, the very epitome of genteel luxury and Angus and Claire couldn't be better, warmer and fantastic hosts. Their hospitality, care and warmth were wonderful and their attention to detail legendary! We are already planning when we can go back! »

« The house and facilities are fantastic, in fact it felt so homely and welcoming we did not want to come home. The owners are lovely people very friendly and helpful The area is great for getting to many close by areas and dog walks. Love the art around the gardens, fenced in garden great for our pooches. Definitely going back, need to suss the bath as couldn't get hot water but this was an "us" fault not there's as we are rubbish with reading instructions. The only let down to our weekend was...
