Shower drain was clogged. Unfortunately you don’t know that until you’re using it. That’s one of the things you really want in a room…..a good shower!

Centrally located
This was our second stay at this hotel and overall I'd rate our stay as good. Rooms are spacious, comfortably furnished, bright and warm. But I did find the bed rather small and short and I'm surprised that for such a large room, it did not have a kingsize bed. Also although there was a tray with glasses provided on a table for our entire 3 night stay, there was no bottled provided at all? Rooms were cleaned daily and towels were regularly changed. The restaurant was reasonably priced. With food of a high standard, but drinks both in the restaurant and the hotel bar were rather pricey. Overall we were happy with our stay as the location of the hotel site was good and central to our needs for this trip to Scotland. I would use this hotel again and would recommend it to others.

Lovely traditional Scottish hotel - good service
This is a very attractive hotel, with lovely traditional rooms in the main house, where we stayed. The staff are really professional and helpful. There were a couple of very minor maintenance issues in our room (a couple of light bulbs needed changing and the towel rail was loose) but these were fixed very very quickly after we mentioned them. For me the bed was rather soft - but that may have just been in my room, not everywhere and in any case I do like a very firm bed. For others it might not have been an issue. When I mentioned it to the man on reception he said he would definitely escalate it as all feedback is valuable. Overall a very nice stay.

Not bad except for breakfast
The hotel is clean and the room was ok except for the heating in the bathroom not working. When we arrived at 9.40pm we asked whether we could get food and were told that the restaurant was closed but they didn't mind if we wanted to order in. The bar was also closed, although they did offer to open it just for us. The main reason for the 3* is the breakfast. The whole breakfast was deep fried and soaked in grease, both of us left half of it.

Comfortable and very spacious rooms. Comfortable beds, but no fridge in the room. Nice selection for breakfast, but: the mushrooms I ordered for breakfast seemed to be prepared in the deep fryer which wasn't yummy at all. Rest of breakfast is o.k. In general a nice hotel with good service.

Good Hotel Spoiled
This hotel was totally spoiled for me because the bathroom had a lot of black mould round the bath and ceiling. It also had staining on the grouting. There was a slight damp musty smell in the room. Otherwise this would be a very good, well equipped hotel. Staff appeared very helpful and professional. Food in the restaurant was good. Ideal location for visiting the Kelpies and Helix Park.

Overnight 9 July 22
I was staying at the hotel to attend an event. On checking in we found a double was booked instead of a twin which meant sharing with my friend - not the end of the world but would have been awkward for some people. The room was pleasant and comfortable. What was really noticeable was the hotel being short staffed and those available in the evening seemed young and inexperienced. When the buffet arrived without a vegetarian option I was willing to pay for a vegetarian option for my friend but was told the kitchen was busy. To his credit the young man did return with vegetable pakora and a bread roll. The buffet was disappointing with only 4 food options, chicken gougons, chicken pakora, sausage rolls and black pudding croquettes. All tasty enough but no condiments or even pakora sauce. On retiring, I called reception for fresh milk and was told that the milk was the same as what was in the room, I clarified that only uht was available and he said it was just the same. I did get fresh milk in the end but it felt like an inconvenience. Breakfast in the morning was excellent and the ladies managing service were attentive and organised. They appeared experienced and confident. Overall, nothing was wrong but some aspects could have been better. Hospitality recruitment is difficult currently and as such everything is forgiven. I would stay here again and wouldn't discourage anyone planning to stay here.

The hotel was nice, bed was comfy, no fan available and it was so hot. check in and out was fine, bar staff didn't want to engage. Breakfast staff were ok. Food and Staff in the restaurant were great and would 100% visit again.

Lovely place
The hotel is lovely and clean. We had a great nights sleep. The rooms are very spacious and plenty if storage. We would have had breakfast, but you have to order it the day before which didn't suit us. The room was nice with blackout curtains which helped us sleep. There was on site free parking which is great.

The hotel its self was a little run down with carpets and furnishings worn. The main issue was a wedding finishing at 12 midnight on our friday night and 1am on our saturday night so not much sleep. There was no lunch menu either so had to get sandwiches etc elsewhere.

Pleasant enough but room for improvement
Hotel was ok some of the facilities could do with being updated. Found most of the staff quite abrupt. Not very well sign posted on how to get to room, we were in garden wing which the receptionist gave us directions to the building but failed to tell us all rooms in this building are upstairs so when we arrived in building there was no signs and upon looking for room on ground floor 2 young members of staff snapped at us. Your room is up stairs I mean its all on one level !! when clearly there was a down stairs that didnt have anything to say staff only. Also when we came back to hotel at night found the man behind bar abrupt when asked if he had any crisps or nuts he huffed and said this is a hotel bar not a pub and seemed offended that we would ask. I found the hotel pleasant enough however I feel some facilities need updating and staff need further training on customer service.

Fantastic.. . The room was fine, up the highlight for us was the breakfast.. it was absolutely fantastic.. the amazing lady who served us during breakfast is a real treasure and a credit to the Grange Manor.. but I think they know that as they named the tea room after her.. totally deserved.. loved our short time there and would come back

what I did not like was that i was given a room right next to a motorway when i specifically asked for a `quiet location`. there were rooms across the other side which were not on the side of the busy motorway. I was promised they would change me to another room on the second night, but they `forgot`. its not even a cheap hotel so i was very disappointed, tired and miles away from home.

Stayed here on 12th May for one night £76.00 double room including breakfast. From check in to check out we couldn't fault a single thing, room had no TV remote went to reception member of staff brought one to the room. Clean and tidy and lovely big bath. Definitely would stay again
