The house was not cleaned very well. There were dead bugs in the kitchen. The carpets looked awful with very nasty looking stains everywhere. Everything from the appliances in the kitchen to the pool table looked pretty heavily used and in need of maintenance. The worst part was trying to contact the management about an exterior door that would not lock. The first night was several hours back-and-forth via the app chatting tool. I had to leave the house unsecured. We had a group of 12 people and had gone out to dinner with all of our belongings in the house, but with no way to lock it. They would not respond via a call or a more immediate means of communication to address the problem. They finally agreed to send a maintenance person on the second day after I kept insisting but first required that I send photos of the door lock that wasn’t functioning. They’ve then replied with a video link on how to lock the door acting as if I didn’t know how a basic door locked functioned. Overall, I will not be staying here again nor recommending anyone else too.

Clean and nice place to stay. Somewhat short on kitchen equipment and funny smell in one of the showers, but overall a good experience. Keys are difficult to open and lock up and several back doors are also very difficult to lock.

We had an awesome time in the hugE beautiful housE that needs some serious maintenance ie …all doors were hard to lock & unlock,all toilets unsteady plus slow to flush, kitchen NOT fully stocked with an industrial gas oven/stove scary to operate, (thankful that Lance brought in a microwave replacement & 2 2 plate electric burners for cooking)Garbage cans loaded down from last group leaving maggots at the gate, gator in the pond— no fish, dead rats by pool, area around pool w/ food scraps like chicken bones near play scape, yard well mowed but bushes over grown plus ivy at front porch growing thru door into the house entry making lock box hard to access.

Senior Trip

This property was perfect for our group of 12 graduated seniors (17 total people). The ability to stay together in a 1.6 million house that met all of our needs was priceless. They swimming pool and the fire pit were popular hang out spots for the group. The patio furniture is really nice and sturdy. The kitchen is huge. Huge. We enjoyed the large refrigerator and the ice machine in the bar area. Our group was just able to fit around the large dining room table with additional chairs pulled up. These moments were my favorite of the whole trip. The beds were comfy and the extras were nice too: the pool table, ping pong table, the video game, all the smart TVs. There has been some wear and tear on the house from previous guests, but that's to be expected, I'm sure-- nothing that changed our attitude about our stay. Items to remember, as with all vacation rentals, if you want more towels, bring them: bath, pool, kitchen, dish rags, hand towels, etc. And one peculiar note about the kitchen: there are at least 5 colanders but 0 storage bowls or mixing bowls. If you're planning on a lot of scratch cooking, bring bowls. Overall, we loved this place. We would definitely return given the chance.

Perfect weekend get away

We normally stay in a property that's beachfront, but wanted to try something different. This was the perfect alternative. Beautiful home in great location for our weekend get-away.

Galveston Getaway

Pictures do not show back of property that has broken down wooden fence and huge piles of dead brush. Brush is full of fire ants that carry over into yard. Also snakes in brush! Hot tub and waterfall not working. Carpets are filthy. Minimal amount of amenities. Half of kitchen appliances did not work. Disappointed for the amount of money spent.

Great house by lacking hospitality

This house is beautiful and big. It’s an amazing property. The property managers are easy to communicate with and we’re quick to respond to messages. The house was lacking in hospitality amenities none of the bathrooms had the TP holder not a big deal but odd, we had a large group and they knew we’d be using all of the beds, including the fold out beds, but they did not provide any extra bedding for the fold out beds, nor were there any extra blankets and the comforters were basically like decorative sheets, and it was very cold. They did not have pool towels, so there were not enough towels to be in the pool and shower without having to do laundry each time. The pool was very warm and heated, but the hot tub was ice cold. It did not supply basic amenities that we are used to being provided in most properties. If you’re looking for a large property for a large amount of people, especially teams with teenagers this house is great just expect to have to bring your own things for your stay.

Fabulous, Spacious Home

Perfect getaway for our family and friends. Huge home with plenty of beds and bathrooms. Great kid room with ping pong, foozball and a video game. Amazing master suite and bathroom. We had a few problems with a toilet and dishwasher when we arrived but the VRBO representative sent a team out immediately and even installed a new dishwasher. Great place. Highly recommend!

Deferred Maintenance Queen

On the positives: Our family had a great time here despite the many shortcomings of this property. Plenty of room to gather in the different places on site.Negatives: The place is missing a bedroom! There are not 7 rooms, only 6. One room is shown twice but from a different angle (the master). The pull out couch in the library has a leaky air mattress under the couch but not no way to inflate it.Kitchen: One oven doesn't close and is functionally non operative. Dishwasher doesn't work.Hot tub doesn't work and judging by other reviews, repairs have not been made for a long time.Game room wasn't used as most of the stuff was missing pieces or not working. Kitchen supplies are minuscule as are bathroom supplies.And as stated in other reviews, the place is dirty, especially the carpets. If you are a clean freak, you might want to keep looking.The aggravating thing, other than the missing bedroom (which was a real negative) is that this place has so much potential to be a fantastic listing for VRBO. But as it stands, I may look at other platforms when booking my next rental.

Beautiful home and setting.

Home and settings is beautiful, however the upkeep and maintenance has a lot to be desired. The pool was dirty upon our arrival and the pool heater wa not on. The maintenance man did respond and fixed the problem. Floors were dirty, carpet was stained. wwaswasstained stastastained stdstained

Beautiful site but needs updates

This property is very private and the house is amazingly spacious. The house is in need of updates. Carpets were dirty/stained. Door locks are antiquated (not in a good way). We had major trouble unlocking and locking the front door (but the manager was quick to help us). The pool was cloudy and the hot tub didn't heat up (ok since in Oct). We found less individual sleeping areas than we had expected, it is mostly bunking/ group set ups. There is 2 masters with kings & 4 other bdrms with multiple beds (one upstairs w/out proper AC). Also, less bathrooms than we understood (3.5). The main master bath needs a door for privacy while showering. We could tell the house was definitely majestic in it's time and agree that it could be again. Bunking and sharing would definitely be different if this was for my family. As can be with B&Bs, it was a little challenging for a work group /conference, but thankfully we made it work with a group of like minded women.

Its a shame

Its a shame this house could be so so beautiful. We rented this house for the 3 days before our wedding on a cruise. It was supposed to be a nice place to relax, cook and hang out in the pool. We had all of our friends and family coming. The floors were so disgusting, stains all over the carpets, there was trash left in all of the trashcans, dust left everywhere, dead bugs all over the floors. The pools pump does not work so.it was more like a pond than a pool. The hot tub does not get hot and the water in it was only about a foot high. The door handles were falling off the back doors outside and non of the back doors actually locked. I was told maintenance would be out to fix this, and they never came. I contacted management and they had someone come out and reclean but they only wiped up the tile floors and took the trash out. The pool company came the next day to clean it but there wasnt much they could do because the owner apparently does not want to replace the broken pump in the pool. The landscaping was not at all what was pictured and there are vines growing over the front door and into the crqcks of the front door. We were extremely disappointed and scammed for what we paid for this house. I absolutely would not recommend staying here. I was so embarrassed to have my friends and family come stay. This house is a health issue. I COULD GO ON AND ON.

Great mini-vacay

Loved this house—Plenty of room for 4 adults and 8 children (ages 8-months to 13-years). Extremely peaceful stay. We especially loved the nice pool and game room. We would highly recommend this property to anyone.
