Your Hiding Place | Blissful Retreat

This country home is located only a few miles from downtown Fredericksburg. Surrounded by magnificent trees, guests will treasure the home's country porch complete with comfy Adirondack chairs. The porch is an ideal place to enjoy the abundant wildlife and nature found on the property, including deer, rabbits and an array of birds. Your Hiding Place has been lovingly built and furnished to enjoy the very best of country living.

Inside the a-frame beamed ceiling and pine floors highlight a spacious living room/kitchen. A large sofa and two comfy, elegant rocking chairs are placed to enjoy the gas-log fireplace or watch the television. The roomy kitchen has a small refrigerator, two burner stovetop, microwave, toaster and coffeemaker. Pine beaded cabinets are found on one wall with table and chairs placed by the windows to enjoy the wonderful views of the countryside.

A king-size bed is found in the romantic bedroom, which is placed to enjoy the double-sided gas-log fireplace. Take pleasure in the large soaking tub found in the corner of the bedroom designed to get pleasure from the fireplace on those cold winter nights. An adjacent bath has a large glass shower.

The location of this country home is perfect for walkers and cyclists. Three country roads near Your Hiding Place guesthouse is great for walking, jogging, bicycling, or bird watching. Your hosts will provide binoculars and bird books in case you encounter a rare sighting. There is also the Palo Alto Creek flowing just a short distance down the road.

*Please be aware that the cottage does not have wifi or internet.*

Please Note: You are renting a cabin in the Hill Country which means you may encounter wildlife (Snakes, Deer, Racoons, ETC). Please be aware of your surroundings, and take caution while driving at night. You may also encounter the various bugs, spiders, scorpions and mice that live in the country AND sometimes do make their way inside. All properties do utilize pest control services on a regular basis BUT this does not guarantee no pests or bugs will be visible.

Wonderful Retreat

We have stayed at several places in the area but this one is the best! Great accommodations, beautiful setting and well furnished. Very convenient to town and other attractions but still has a wonderful rural setting. We will be back!

Charming and Cozy

Couldnt have asked for a better place to stay for our anniversary! The special details made everything so personal and will definitely bring us back! From the chocolate cake to the complentary bottle of wine. The kolaches and pastries were excelent! We loved watching the deer sitting on the porch with a glass of wine. We had some pretty crazy weather but the metal roof and fireplace made it feel so cozy! We will definitely be back!

How It Should Be

This is how a vacation rental should be. We were welcomed with an open door and a personalized note to us. THERE WAS NOT A LIST OF DEMANDS OR THREATS. The place was so clean. Even the front porch was swept clean of pollen and spider webbs. It is evident that the hosts have experience. There were so many little details that were addressed; fresh flowers, music playing upon arrival, wine set out, fruit & delicious cake. We especially appreciated the extensive cd collection. Would highly recommend The Hideaway to fellow VRBOs. Thank you to our hosts for providing us with such a terrific experience.

Based on the photos of the house, she thought it was “staged”, and ready for disappointment. She was pleased that the house was exactly as pictured. We were impressed as to how clean it was too. Ledges that typically hold dust had been cleaned. Staff was easy to contact when I had a question as well. There’s nothing bad to say.

Perfect Getaway

We enjoyed everything about Your Hiding Place cabin. Kathi and Glen are very attentive with every detail. Lovely breakfast/snack offerings allowed us to relax each morning. Even with the July heat, the porch was very comfortable in the morning and in the evenings just in time to see the local deer tribe. Bird watching haven. We loved this location.

Hospitality beyond measure

The cottage was perfect for our weekend getaway. Cozy, clean and quiet. Great for a quiet read of a favorite book or a sip of your choice beverage. While the treats (the cake, the sweets from the local bakery and the wine) did nothing for my weight loss goals, they were the perfect start to our weekend. My wife would like to make this an annual stop during different parts of the year. Now we know exactly where we want to stay.

Amazing Property

An overall fantastic stay at a incredible property. 5 miles from downtown Fredericksburg, but feels like you are deep in the Texas Hill Country. Private and secluded cabin with ALL of the emnities you could ever want. Many personal touches to make your stay one to remember. Had such a great stay and we cannot wait to go back again soon.

Blown away. I don’t want to ruin any surprises but the loving owners put personal touches into this experience. The nature around the property is amazing.
