Unique Romantic Beach Style Cottage close to Folly Beach & historic Charleston!

If you like island living and are seeking a unique romantic get-a-way, you will LOVE our property. With a Caribbean/surfing theme you will be able to enjoy your stay with us in a private setting. Our ADULT ONLY cozy cottage has two rooms but all you need to relax and unwind. The outside area has tropical trees along the pathway to our pool and sun deck for your enjoyment. Music is also an added pleasure around the pool area with outdoor sound system. The garden shower (and only shower) is just outside the cottage doors, completely private and unique as you can see in the photos. Our guests have a private entrance to the cottage on the back of the property. There is a cozy porch with Adirondack chairs for relaxing. Bicycles, Beach chairs, surfboard, and cooler are provided for your beach fun. The property is located behind our home on a quiet cul-de-sac with no noise except for the songbirds chirping in the mornings. Short 10 minute drive to either Folly Beach or to downtown historic Charleston. We have many guests celebrate honeymoons, weddings, anniversaries, graduations, and other Charleston events throughout the year. A long list of things to do as well as favorite restaurants are provided by past guests as well as family and friends. Our pool is unheated and located behind the main home and being the only guests, you will be able to enjoy it on your own. We have a strict no-pet policy so please do not ask for an exception. The place was cute and cozy. A lot smaller than I anticipated, but it works. I didnt pay attention to the VRBO ad that the shower is outside, so that is important to know, especially in the colder months.

Ken and Christine were absolutely amazing! When arriving at the property we felt as though we were pulling into our own driveway. The cottage was absolutely perfect for my lady and I. Over the weekend we got engaged and we couldn't have picked a better place to come back to afterwards and relish in the moment. "The Sanborn's EST. 2025" now lives forever on the surfboard. We cannot wait to come back!

WHAT AN AMAZING PROPERTY. We will certainly be back many times over on our annual trip to Charleston. This property owner created an amazing cottage / space on the back of their property with so much attention to detail. Very Private. Enjoyed the pool area each day, our cottage had great AC/air plow. So many vibey pieces of art. The OUTDOOR SHOWER was huge and had plants in it and was just a dream. We got to enjoy the outdoor seating & tables and overall had a magical 3 days/nights here. We will be back an this is our new spot to stay in Charleston. Very close to beaches, downtown and great restaurants and all the sites. 10-15 mins gets you anywhere you need to be. Highly recommend!

My wife and I visited for our 20 year anniversary and Kokomo Cottage was exactly as advertised. The property was clean, bed was comfy, and the amenities provided everything we needed. We really enjoyed the centralized location to everything. We were able to visit multiple breweries, Folly Beach, Downtown Charleston, and many great local restaurants. Our host was very responsive and also provided a local guidebook with things to do ect, which was a nice touch. It was perfect for a weekend getaway to go and get lost.

Fantastic Anniversary Rental

Kokomo Cottage was the perfect stay for my girlfriend and I’s anniversary! We loved the intimacy of the space, the proximity to downtown Charleston/Folly Beach, and the pool. Would recommend to any couple who wants to spend a romantic getaway in the Charleston area!

The owner seemed nice, but there was a camera pointed right at the shower. My wife and daughter took a shower and then i took mine. When I was taking a shower I noticed the back blinds of their house open then I looked up to see a camera pointed right at me. I told my wife and she felt really violated, especially that my 3 year old daughter had to walk from the cottage to the shower naked because she was covered in beach sand. We did not feel private at all and felt like we were being watched the whole time. The cottage smelled like mildew as well and the pool was on their back porch with about 10 windows pointed at you, so after seeing the camera we just didnt feel comfortable. I have pictures of the camera view from standing in the shower and you could easily see the upper half of your body from the camera. It was really creepy. I get they may want the camera for safety purposes but at least put a full size door up and notify your tenants instead of making the description sound like its a private get away. We had to hang a towel up to block out the view of the camera.

We had a lovely stay, and the location was an easy UBER Ride from the venue. Outdoor Shower did not disappoint event on a chilly morning. Will definitely stay there again. The Hosts were lovely and nonobtrusive.

Cozy stay for our beach getaway

My partner and I had a relaxing stay at the Kokomo cottage during our visit to Charleston. We very much enjoyed the backyard space and access to the pool and tiki bar that Ken and Christine have to offer. The mattress in the cottage was very comfortable and the rest of the cottage was clean and well-maintained. Highly recommended for a couple getaway!

Cute bungalow, but not by the beach

We had a lovely time staying here, but felt like it maybe overemphasized it's closeness to Folly Beach. Loved the outdoor shower, but for a "romantic" stay would definitely have preferred to have a door on the bathroom. Also definitely had a mildew problem and all our clothes came home smelling of damp.

A great little hideaway near the beach

It was our first time to Folly Beach and my wife and I stayed at the Kokomo Cottage. We stayed for 2 nights and it was the perfect little stay. Easy access to the beach and to Charleston. After a morning at the beach, we floated in the pool and captured some more sun. It had everything we needed and felt very private. Nice design touches makes you feel you're right at the beach. Would definitely consider if my wife and I are looking for an easy getaway!

Kokomo Cottage made our stay unforgettable!

We enjoyed every minute of our stay at Kokomo and didn't want to leave! Ken and Christine are lovely people, were very accommodating, and you hardly knew they were around. The location is perfect as it's 10 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to Folly Beach, and 30 minutes from the airport. The cottage is a perfect romantic getaway or an excellent base of operations from which to explore all the area has to offer. We can't wait to visit Kokomo Roatan next!

The beautiful bungalow

We loved Ken and Christine. They’re so sweet and chill. They had all the beach stuff you could need !! It’s a little pricey for the amenities you’re getting though. It is indeed a shared pool. Not private. The bed was not as comfortable as I thought it would be. Overall we’re super chill about where we stay. Just a few things to consider.
