The host failed to communicate with me; I tried often but he kept saying to wait but would only communicate during office hours and spoke very little English. He failed to communicate with me several times prior to my arrival date, and I was forced to book a hotel at great expense to me. I already paid him so I ended up paying double for the room. He kept telling me I could come in anytime, but I had not been able to reach him before I was forced to get out of my earlier apartment and so I had no choice, but to make secondary arrangements. He also lied in telling me that there was a doorman which there wasn’t an in telling me that there was an available limousine which I had been counting on to move my suitcases from one apartment to the host apartment. Apparently, he felt he should not be compelled to follow any professional guidelines and complain that I wrote to him outside of office hours. Of course, I only did that because he didn’t communicate withme inside of regular office hours. I have been coming to Florence for 27 years and never had a problem with a host, refusing to communicate with me in a timely and professional manner. It is my intention to complain to my credit card company to Get a reimbursement. When MARK would not communicate with me and I had to leave my apartment with all my suitcases, I ended up calling VRBO to get their assistance. I finally was able to get in touch with them and they were able to get in touch with him and that was when he called.
