8/10
This is the second time I've stayed at the Travelers Inn in Eugene. I returned because of its convenient location and affordability, considering I don't require a premium hotel when traveling alone. My room appeared to have been recently refurbished, and was much nicer than outside appearances and the location would suggest.
On my previous stay, I had a room on the 1st level, but down a hallway. This time, I had a second floor room with a balcony, facing the street. I think that contributed to my greater sensitivity to the sound of nearby trains during the night.
I liked that the room had a refrigerator, which was very much like a wine fridge, but disliked that the temperature control was either nonfunctional or disabled. I also had to tuck in the window curtains to minimize the bright balcony light from disrupting my sleep. Why is there no wall switch for that?
Lastly, the shower is decent, but had the lowest water pressure I've ever seen. Good thing my wife wasn't with me. She complains when she can't rinse the conditioner out of her hair.
