'As soon as we walked through the door, we knew we made the right choice. The restaurant/bar area was beautiful and cozy. The hotel staff was welcoming. Our room was nicely decorated, and the bay window view of the sea was gorgeous. I will stay at the Avoca any time that I return to Newcastle.'

'We were glad to spend the final two days of our trip at Belmont House. The hotel was quaint, the breakfasts wonderful and the staff friendly. We enjoyed a day trip to Carringford and it was an easy country drive there and back. We'd come again!'

'The reception staff were lovely and very helpful. The staff in the bar serving afternoon food and drinks were slow and not very knowledgeable, also the snack choices were very limited. Rooms and bathrooms were clean. The swimming pool was very poor paint peeling, rust around units on the walls. The steam room and sauna not very inviting.'

'Myself and my partner only stayed for one night. The cabin was very clean and cosy with everything we needed for our short break. The bed was very comfortable and the shower was excellent, things that not all places we have stayed get right. We used it as a stop off on our trip to photograph the mountains and surrounding areas, this was the perfect stop off for what we wanted. Thank you for the stay, it made our break, we will definitely be booking again.'

'It was very cozy and fit all of our needs perfectly'

'Spacious ,clean .Relaxed style of accomodation and location. No fancy or long check in and check out procedures .Simplicity at its best with the style to match'

'John was such a lovely host. Very friendly and makes the most delicious Irish breakfast for the morning!! A beautiful property and beautiful rooms. My husband and I loved our visit here!!'

'I would stay again.good staff, great location and near bus route into Belfast'

'Made reservation with mentioning payment upon arrival, took the amount from the credit card the day before. Disco aside and during night lot of noice of people, cars chasing on parking and music. Rooms bad smell of fungus. Breakfast poor quality, poor service. '

'Good hotel with quality views from the bedroom and super breakfast will be returning soon'

'A truly wonderful find! Quiet, convenient, clean well appointed cottage, with attentive, friendly hosts. Good parking, near enough (by car) to the Mourne Mountains, Murlough, Tyrella and Ballykinler beaches and Newcastle. About a 45 min drive from Belfast. A great haven for peaceful outdoor pursuits or just getting away from it all. Will happily stay again! '

'Well communicated contactless check in, beautiful property and rooms, cute little town, and the breakfast was good! Coffee was great, Charlie makes a great flat white! Parking can be a little bit of a nuisance, and like many historical properties no elevator so if you need help with your luggage plan ahead as the property is not always staffed. Lovely. Also Forrest Park is not to far down the road if you would like a lovely walk around the lake. the Parson's Nose is quite good as a dinner option...

'Erg mooie kamer. Het huis was in het begin wel een beetje een doolhof, maar ook dat was wel charmant. Kamer zag er erg verzorgd uit tot aan het mooie behang toe.'
