'We had an ok stay. Overall there was a lot more good than bad.
Positives:
- Room and the rest of the hotel were nicely decorated, and more modern style than most nearby hotels
- Cleanliness was good and the room was serviced efficiently
- Breakfast was very good quality and the standard was fairly consistent
- Three EV chargers and lots of parking. All chargers were Type 2, so if your car needs a CHAdeMO connector then you're out of luck, but they are uncommon now anyway. Charger was expensive...

'We stayed for 9 nights and had a lovely stay at Lucombe Manor. Breakfast was excellent every morning, and the hotel has plenty of character. We were lucky with the weather, and the sunshine over the building gave it a real Mediterranean feel!
Our first night was disturbed by guests in the adjoining room coming and going, talking and laughing. Being an older building, you can also hear people walking past rooms at night. The manager kindly moved us the following day, which we appreciated.

'Liked everything with one exception. We had booked a superior double room. Upon arrival we were told we were being upgraded. The room was dominated by a super king size bed. There were 4 large lamps and 2 overhead bedside lamps. However no chair and no fridge. I enquired and unfortunately they did not have a spare fridge. I expected a chair and fridge in a superior room.'

'Very well maintained and fab to stay. We had dinner there and it was fabulous. I booked a table in advance. It was full when we were there, so would recommend booking ahead. Steak and shiraz with a peppercorn sauce. Breakfast was set out on a full table to help yourself with juices, cereal, pastry, croissants, toast and there were jams a plenty to chose, along with marmite. There were muffins and bars along with fruit basket. We were greeted and asked if wale would like tea or coffee. Staff...

'We loved staying at Albert Cottage. It is a unique property with beautiful historical furnishings and design. The breakfasts are wonderful. There is a lovely sitting room where we played cards. It has a nice restaurant. It is an easy walk to the fantastic Osborne House. There were a couple of small plumbing issues due to the age of the building but they were taken care of and not significant. We stayed in many places during our trip to the UK and loved this one in particular.'

The Queens Road Hotel4,8 km van Dinosaur Maze

'The room its self was clean but very tired. It was very cold as the window/door lets in a draught (old building) but we were provided with a large blanket on arrival but the electric fire in the room was more for decoration rather than heat.
The staff were happy to help with our requests for extra towels and coffee.
It was a very unique experience.'
