'What a surprise we found at the Athenaeum, a grand hotel from the 19th century, on beautiful Lake Chatauqua. On arrival, we found ourselves entering a gated community spread along the lake shore, with wonderful 19th and 20th century summer homes, within walking distance of the hotel. The property location is convenient for exploring multiple fun areas and activities in North western PA and South western NY balanced with the house providing an accomodating experience. It's difficult to find a vacation rental that offers it all, so having waterfront access with kayaks, a firepit, and a hot tub helped make for a wonderful vacation '
