'My fiancee and I only stayed one night at Chateau de La Riviere, and I wish we had stayed longer. Communications with Alice, one of our hosts, were clear and easy. Upon arrival, we were told that we were the only ones staying that night! This made it feel like a fairy tale - a chateau all to ourselves! 'There were eight adult family members on vacation. The property is absolutely amazing. The house was very comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed during our stay.
The grounds are meticulously maintained and the only sounds you hear are the sheep in the dry moat and the birds that inhabit the property.
Though there is no air conditioning in the home, the temperatures were very manageable with the windows open.
Chartres is a charming town, away from the hustle and bustle of Paris....
