« This property is a hidden gem. We used it as our base for a short trip to OBX. Columbia is a peaceful town with a lovely boardwalk along the Scuppernong River and this home is located within walking distance of the small main street and boardwalk. Coming from the triangle area, it was nice to have a shorter drive to get to our accommodations coming down and to be ahead of the OBX return traffic coming home. « My husband and I stayed here for a quick weekend trip to attend the bear festival in Plymouth. The house was perfect for our needs. We have stayed in a lot of VRBO’s and the bed was one of the most comfortable ones we have ever slept in. Sadly, we didn’t see any bears. But we did enjoy seeing deer, wild turkey’s, turtles, and snakes while we were driving around. The sunset over the field behind the house was amazing and you could see all the stars at night. « Greatly enjoyed our stay here for a week in February. The house was home base for us as we visited the three nearby National Wildlife Refuges. House was very clean and stocked with all essentials. Clear communications with the host added to the positive experience. Was third winter we have visited Albemarle/Pamlico peninsula to view wildlife. When we return, we will definitely try and book this lodging again. »
