This is the river where grain alcohol turned into bourbon. Along this river distillers would load barges of alcohol destined for Memphis and New Orleans. To cheapen the transport, they used cask oak barrels. During the long trip down to New Orleans the alcohol would mix in with the wooden barrels and be transformed. New Orleans didn't know what to call this sweet new liquor. The casks were stamped with the county of origin, Bourbon County. This resulted in a new nickname being formed, Bourbon Whiskey, and the name stuck. The river isn't used for transport much anymore, but the history remains.

'Play was exactly what we needed! It was clean, and comfortable. The only things I would say need to be fixed are, the ceiling light in the bedroom needs new bulbs, it was out. The large clock on the wall was also not working, but these are easy fixes. Also, just a suggestion, maybe have salt, and pepper available. We thought it was strange that there was coffee creamer, coffee, and even granola bars, which was a lovely touch. But no salt and pepper. '
