'Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was hard to work and didn’t get hot for quite a few minutes. Breakfast was mid - they had waffle mix and a waffle iron, which was great. But pretty much all carbs except a few apples. No other fruit or yogurt. '

'We couldn't believe how spacious this apartment was! Kristi, the manager, communicated with us before and during our stay, and even had a welcome basket with goodies waiting for us in the kitchen. Our unit had a great living room, full kitchen, bedroom with two big beds, and pull-out sofa. And TWO full bathrooms. After a long day of hiking, it was just perfect for the three of us. We fully recommend High Plains Lodge!'

I'd recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a getaway. But there's a lot more. What sets these cabins apart is the location. You are on the high plains and there is nothing here but the land, the sky, the wind, and the maybe the occasional farmer. And what a wonderful thing that is. I came here to walk trails through the Rita Blanca National...

'Looking out the back of our cabin, it was not hard to imagine how the American prairie looked 150 years ago, but with all the modern comforts. This is truly one of the quietest places I have ever been in the entire world. The next time we drive to Colorado, we will make sure our plans include a stop here again. Fantastic cabin and host! '
