The Marigold’s Floridian is a beautifully furnished 1 bedroom, 1 bath spacious apartment inside an early 1900 Victorian Home. From the Florida Style Couch and Loveseat, rich wood floors and high ceilings, everything about this place says comfort. The full bath with shower is entered through the exceptionally large bedroom. The small kitchen allows for easy meal prep for those who prefer to eat in but don’t neglect the several wonderful restaurants within walking distance! The front porch is a wonderful place to relax while enjoying your morning cup of coffee or that nice glass of wine before dinner. Your private parking space is located right in front of the apartment. Located just a short walk from the center of Deland, a stay in this centrally located Historic property gives you easy access to everything Central Florida has to offer. Owners Bill and Erin are close by so let them know if you need anything special for your stay.

Deland has been awarded the “Best Small Town in Florida” many times and holds regular festivals including the Dog Parade, The Christmas Boat Parade, Juried Art festivals, and several holiday parades like Veterans day and homecoming. Deland hosts its own Bike Weekends to coincide with Daytona Bike Weeks. The MainStreet DeLand Association - Deland, FL link can show you the upcoming calendar of events.
New Smyrna Beach is a quick 35 minute drive and world famous Daytona Beach with its awesome Daytona International Speedway - NASCAR racing is also 35 minutes away. Both beaches allow driving and parking on the beach. We provide beach supplies for your stay so no need to bring or buy a cooler, beach chairs or towels. Both places hold Bike Weeks in October and March each year.
Deland is home to Stetson University and the Stetson Mansion wired for electricity by Thomas Edison himself, as well as multiple art museums and theaters.
De Leon Springs State Park is nearby with The Old Spanish Sugar Mill , famous for its pancakes made right at your table- a must for breakfast lovers. You can pack a picnic lunch and relax all day under the huge shade trees, enjoy canoeing on the river or a swim in the natural spring at this beautiful state park. The St John’s river runs through Deland and offers many types of activities at the nearby marina which also has a rustic seafood restaurant right on the water, and fishing near the Whitehair bridge on Hwy 44. The St Johns River also has lots of wildlife including alligators. The manatees winter at beautiful Blue Springs just 15 minutes away. If you do bring your boat, pay attention to the no wake and manatee zones to help protect the large "sea cows". The town just South of us, Sanford, has a Riverboat Cruise that is a great way of touring the river.

And of course, Orlando’s world class attractions are just an hour away, including Disney World, Epcot, Sea World, famous International Drive and Universal Studios with its newest Harry Potter themed attractions. Day trips might include U.S. Air Force Space & Missile Museum in Cape Canaveral, the world class Outlet shopping area in Saint Augustine- the oldest settlement in America, or a trip to Busch Gardens in Tampa. Gainesville, home to the University of Florida is two hours north and Florida’s gulf coast to the West is about 3 hours. Tarpon Springs on the Gulf coast is another easy day trip. Awesome off shore fishing is offered at several nearby marinas, weather permitting. These include Reel Deal Offshore Fishing in Ponce Inlet. Inside the Marigold Floridian you'll find a guest binder which also lists the areas art museums, theaters and historic sites as well as recommendations from guests before you. Remember, you are visiting sunny Florida so take advantage of our wonderful weather to see everything this beautiful place offers.

The Daytona airport is only 25 minutes away as is the Sanford International Airport served by many European travelers. The Orlando International airport is approximately 1 hour away.

Good location, roomy

Our stay here was pleasant and it was nice to be able to walk downtown. The place itself was clean and comfortable. Only a few minor things were bothersome. Road noise was very loud. There was a very unpleasant smell in the house and we couldn't open some windows and others had no screens. Would have been nice to have a few more kitchen staples like sugar, salt etc. Communication with owner was wonderful tho.

Comfortable Stay

We enjoyed our stay in this property. The bed was super comfortable and BIG. We had all the amenities we needed, and the listing was exactly as advertised. It was a short walking distance from Historic Downtown and was convenient for coffee and ice cream.

If you come to Deland, this is the place to stay!

The host and hostess helped us with a number of unexpected happening during our stay. We are so grateful for their support. The unit which they provided for us was perfect for our needs. It is well stocked, attractive and peaceful... A perfect retreat.

We were coming to attend a funeral for a dear friend. I was looking for a pet friendly place to stay for 2 nights. We looked at pictures online of the place we booked. Looked nice! Within 24 hours after we paid the mgr called said that rental should NOT have been available. He said they could upgrade us or refund monies paid. Sheer panic set in since we were headed to Florida with no place to stay. I did agree to the UPGRADE. However, it was not the equivalent of what we saw online. The unit was NOT updated, with bugs (I have pics) with frogs!! Never again! I wished I had said REFUND!

More than adequate...

If you don’t mind being on a busy street, this rental is very accommodating, and is within walking distance of downtown DeLand. The property manager is very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend Cook’s Buffet. Best time to go is mid-afternoon. And Barkley Square dog park is a must if you have four-legged family with you. Jim

Quaint, quiet great location for us

Our granddaughter was being baptized at St. Peter’s, and our sons home was filled with out of town family. So, we booked this spot. This was right across the street from church. We stayed a long weekend and this location is very close to all stores for party prep. We parked the rental car in front with off street parking. There are also many fun things to do close by, but that’s for next trip!

Charming, large, clean, and centrally-located

My spouse and I stayed for four weeks and thoroughly enjoyed Deland. The apartment is very spacious and the bed was comfortable. The kitchen area allowed us to prepare our own meals when we wanted, and having the use of a washer/dryer meant we could avoid a laundromat. We brought our bikes with us, and were able to lock them up on thefront porch. Deland is beautiful! We enjoyed riding our bikes around town to get familiar with it. Bill and Erin had a binder full of activities and sights to see in the area. Do check out some of the local hot springs, or for a real treat, drive to the Kennedy Space Center, Daytona or New Smyrna Beach!

We stayed at the Floridian because we were in the process of closing on a house in DeLand. Coming from Chicago we had no idea what to expect, but it was a perfect location to explore our new town before we got settled in our new house. Great location!!

Our stay in this darling little home was in the ❤️️ of Deland within walking distance of all the shops and restaurants in their Historic District. The home was immaculate and supplied with everything you could possible need during your stay. We were not able to operate the TV and called the owner for assistance. He responded immediately and turned out we just needed to turn on the cable box😂. We will definitely stay there again when we visit our granddaughter next year. Thank you, Bill.

Went to the wrong door

It was getting late when we arrived and had no internet to pull up the details of our room (yes, as I've done most times before, I should have printed a copy for the trip), we were greeted by Scott who was most helpful. The picture of where we were supposed to stay was, I found about later, in the main house and looks just lovely. But our reservation had an H in it so we and Scott assumed we must be in H which was this beautiful, lovely one bedroom cottage and the edge of the property and it was perfect!!! It was just what we needed and more. The additional privacy was very nice. We had to reach out to Bill for the internet access and that's when we found out we were in the wrong place. We offered to go up to the main house, but Bill was just fine with it. We are VERY likely to come back as long as my bride is on the Alumni Board at Stetson - "Go Hatters!"
